Panama Canal 2019 Misprint??

Looking at April 2019 Panama Canal itineraries and see the Emerald is doing a full transit through the ‘historic old locks’. Is this possible? I thought it was too big to go through them. (The same itinerary in 2020 says new locks).

You thoughts are correct! She will have to use the new locks.

Thanks, good to know. I was thinking of the Vancouver/FLL cruise, but if it doesn’t go through the old locks I’ll choose differently.

April 2019 there are also cruises - full transit - with the Coral Princess or Island Princess. I believe they are doing the old locks/canal. Going from east to west and west to east.

The canal is more north to south or south to north. Take a look at the map and you'll see. ;)

I was referring to the East coast (i.e. Florida) and West coast (i.e. California or Vancouver, B.C.) not the actual direction of the canal.;p
