ADBark Posted December 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Hi there, we will be in St. Kitts, St. Thomas and Grand Turk next week and will be diving twice each day. Any thoughts on the choice between a 3mm shorty versus a 3mm full wetsuit? I know it is an individual choice but would be interested to hear other divers' experiences. I did read the previous post on what to wear snorkeling but it's always a bit colder below the waves. Thanks for any input, -ADB. DeputyDan Posted December 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2017 I always wear a full wet suit and it has nothing to do with temperature. There are all kinds of nasties that you can brush up against. Jellyfish, hydroids, fire coral,
DiverJohn Posted December 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2017 Unless I am doing a hull penetration or something as such I just wear a shorty, if you are challenged with maintaining neutral buoyancy then I would suggest the full skin or 3mm wetsuit in case of contact with anything harmful. Underwatr Posted December 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2017 In St. Thomas I usually wear a shortie.
