Time for Kennedy Space Centre b4 cruise departs?

We will be on FOS next spring. I know we have to on on the ship before 4pm. Would it be worthwhile to go to the Kennedy space centre in the morning, drop off the rental car, and comfortably get onto the ship?

Thanks.

I would verify when you need to be on board. RCI needs to turn the final manifest in to DHS 90 minutes prior to sailing. It used to be 60 minutes but they changed it. Freedom leaves at 4:30pm so you need to be checking in by 3pm.

I think you would be pushing it to try to do KSC the morning of your cruise. You would need to give yourself plenty of time to get the rental returned and shuttled to the ship. IMO, too stressful a way to start a vacation.

It's about a 45 minute drive to the port from KSC. So you'd need to leave by 2 pm at least, and should allow extra time to return the rental car. To be safe, let's say you'd have to leave by 1 pm. That gives you only four hours in the park, which I think would be very rushed and you wouldn't get a chance to see everything.

Time is kind of tight. We were there on 7/31 after

our Monarch cruise. Got there around 10 and left

at 5:30. Takes time to go through all the exhibits

especially if you take the tour buses. When we were

there, the Space Shuttle Endeavour was landing.

Afterwards, they closed the roads for a time in order

to transport the shuttle to it's maintenance location.

We had to wait an hour just to get a tour bus from

the Saturn V building exhibit to the next venue.

With the times for tours, driving, car returns and boarding Freedom,

I think IMO you will be really rushed.
