Hi, Miryam! Not sure on exactly what dollar level you seek, need and define as "mid range". Things are not cheap in Denmark and for many key cities in the Baltics. Lots of taxes, high labor costs, etc. Below is info on The Square hotel that has a super location.

Don't miss seeing Tivoli at night, plus doing the canal boat ride, walking around to soak up the charm in this great city, etc. Below are a few of my photo highlights and suggestions. Tell us more on your specific cost range and flexibility; other interests for Copenhagen, how much time there, when, etc..

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. In Copenhagen, we stayed at The Square hotel that overlooks the main plaza in front of their City Hall with its large tower. This picture angle is framed by two statutes in front of this famed civic building. The design for The Square is also very unique and nice. From the Travel Channel on her "Passport" TV shows, Samantha Brown stayed there and gave it good, deserved play/praise. We agreed!!:

Tivoli looks so special at night with its famed building designs, water features, gardens, flowers, rides, people, entertainment, etc.:

Copenhagen’s famed Tivoli has a wide variety of entertainment happening each day and evening. Here, we enjoyed this super energized “BIG BAND” performance, including the Duke’s famed “Night Train” sounds. This park inspired Walt Disney for his great 20th Century creations! Tivoli’s history goes back to 1844. Very unique and special place that is so handy. If possible, visit there in the evening when the lighting makes things so much more magical!!:

Copenhagen’s Nyhavn or “new” Harbor is actually old and charming. This waterfront entertainment district is lined by brightly colored 17th and early 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants. Serving as a "heritage harbor", the canal also has many historical wooden ships. Lots of people and fun activity!!:

Copenhagen's canal views and going under a bridge:

Copenhagen's historic 1695 Church of Our Saviour is a baroque church with its famous corkscrew spire as seen on the canal tour in the Christanshavns canal area. Don't miss the canal tour in this historic and charming city.:

The location on that hotel is not ideally central, but you can make it work. Prices vary much depending on daily demand basis and how many advance bookings for each specific day. We've booked early at one place, then checked back and saw a price drop (or it can go the other way). Might check back as you get closer. Good luck. Copenhagen is a super great city.

  • 6 months later...

We have selected the Neptune due to Trip Adviser and other sources. Very reasonable price, good central location and includes breakfast, afternoon cake and tea and light buffet at night for around $150.00 US per night.

We stayed at Le Maritime which is a great hotel if you want to be near the Nyhavn. It is an easy five minute walk. We had a good night's sleep. A very nice breakfast which even hubby appreciated and he's fussy. Easy taxi ride to the pier to board the Eurodam. Drive from/to airport was actually pretty reasonable also. We booked through Expedia.
