Depending on how much luggage you have and the time of day you can take BART (the subway) from the airport's international terminal to downtown SF. Once downtown a cab would be significantly less expensive than from all the way at the airport. Sorry I don't have any exact numbers for you. You could call a hotel near the pier and ask the concierge how much one should expect to pay for a cab.

It is quite a few miles from the airport to the ship. Try www.sfoairporter.com They may have better prices to and from the airport. By the way what sailing are you on. I am going out of san francisco on the sapphire on 10-2-04 and we have started a roll call.

Hope this helps.

Hi
Take a BART train that will drop you off at the Embarcadero station. When you pop up onto the sidewalk from the below-ground escalator, you will be looking at the back of the Hyatt Regency. Lots of cabs from there -- and Pier 35 is not far. I would not bother considering any other transfer method. I love BART--it's the most efficient way to travel in the Bay Area. You may know that SF airport is located well south of the city limit and it's adjacent highway (101) is pretty much NEVER clear of thick traffic. Hope this helps.

BART is really easy and is located in the bottom of the United Terminal. It's located in International Terminal 3, fare is$4.95 to Embarcadero, runs every 15 minutes during off peak hours and 8 minutes on peak, and take about 30 minutes.

Here's a link to their web site.

Cost of a taxi from SFO to the pier will probably cost you an arm and a leg. I agree with mii... take an airport shuttle. Of course that depends on the number of your party, then a taxi might be cheaper. Or take dosi's suggestion and take BART from SFO to downtown. From any one of the downtown stations, hop on an F-Market vintage trolley car; they go right pass the pier. They do tend to get crowded though (how much luggage are you planning and carrying?). Or get off at Powell St station and get on the 15 bus toward Fisherman's Wharf. The pier is at the end of the line, right across the street.

Im surprised no one mentioned supershuttle. its alot cheaper than a cab. while ya didnt mention how much luggage your bringing and how many ppl are going. BART may not be a bad idea, but dont even think about getting any luggage on one of those vintage trollys. BTW Hey dosi is Dowser for the Elation 10/02. I was just scrolling through here without being on this site in forever and who do i see but you.

Supershuttle:

and follow links to San Francisco.

Actually, BART to Embarcadero Station, then the cab is the fastest. BART itself is very reliable but not the elevators/escalators at the stations! But with 2 suitcases each,Supershuttle may be best. Allow 45 min ride for a cab from airport to Pier 35, about 90 minutes for Supershuttle./Sultan

We went to Hawaii last yr for 2 weeks, Maui and the Big Island. Celeb X was ancored oout. I was quite funny to watch the tendors come in and see all those ppl walking around like deer in head lights. Going to NYC this summer and Alaska next summer. There was alot of "Drama" about my review back in the day. Its amazing how some 1/2 moron wants to argue with me on a cruise they werent even on.
AMAZING
