Cruisin Around Posted September 4, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Sorry to ask a dumb question, but does RCI have a policy that if your cruise has a price drop in the 30 days prior to your sailing, that they won't give you the drop? My brother's travel agent told him that.
robtulipe Posted September 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2009 RC won't give you a price drop if the new price is for new bookings only like for their Tues. Special Event sale. Regular price dropped even within 30 days of sailing will be honored.
akcruz Posted September 4, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2009 No difference in price drop policy for RCI whether it is 2 days from sailing or 200. As mentioned in prior post if it is a special Tuesday sale it won't be honored but anything else should be. On the other hand, a TA may charge for a price drop or not allow, but that is their policy not Royal's. A good thing to ask prior to booking with a TA (how they handle price drops) especially with the economy the way it is now!
Cruisin Around Posted September 4, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted September 4, 2009 I thought that was the policy that it didn't matter how many days. This is not a special pricing event, but the new price. It's actually crazy because the balconies are now the same price as the interior cabins! Happy ks Posted September 4, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2009 If I were you (or your brother), I'd present this information to the TA. The TA may be dragging their feet because it will affect their commission. Why not upgrade to a balcony, then both parties will be happier :)
Guest maddycat Posted September 4, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Why not upgrade to a balcony. That's what I'd do. Wow............a balcony cabin for the price of an inside cabin. What a deal.
