sept10dsm Posted September 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2009 I was just checking my balance for our cruise in 4 weeks and it shows an on board credit adjustment for each of us. I didn't overpay. Has anyone ever had a weird credit like this before sailing? Just wondering. Thanks.
City_Woman Posted September 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2009 We had that once before. Reduction in port taxes is what did it for us. J

janina Posted September 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2009 I'm sure it is port charges. At least their not billing you an increase like the are on my cruise of $2.87 per person for port tax increase to our shipboard account, since we're paid in full:mad:. Toto2Kansas Posted September 21, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2009 I was checking our booking over the week end and it states for our first cruise (we are doing a B2B) that Government fees and taxes have dropped so each of our accounts will be credited with $7.18 as a refund. Looks like the first small sail away drink is on Princess for us! I would guess your credit is for the exact same reason.

Colo Cruiser Posted September 21, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 21, 2009 How do you check your balance? Online? Only if you book direct with Princess, its in your personalizer.
Toto2Kansas Posted September 21, 2009 #10 Share Posted September 21, 2009 I agree with Colo, to check your balance you have to book direct. But our credit for our refund of Government fees and Taxes is showing up also, even though we didn't book direct. It just has a statement on the Important Notices section of our booking. It is where the fuel surcharge (or lack of a fuel surcharge to be exact) information is located.
Toto2Kansas Posted September 21, 2009 #11 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Oh goodie. Just checked our second cruise and we will be refunded $1.68 on it for Government fees and taxes that have decreased. When the cruise was over we still had .01 credit left. On our next credit card statement there was a .01 credit posted to our account from Royal Caribbean. sept10dsm Posted September 24, 2009 Author #16 Share Posted September 24, 2009 I checked the reservation this morning and now it's $11.17 pp. There is no explaination on this adj. only the .34. I hope it keeps going up!! I did notice that these orig fees were double what we paid in 2007 so maybe there was a problem with them.
Toto2Kansas Posted September 24, 2009 #17 Share Posted September 24, 2009 Check your Important notices on your booking (where the fuel adjustment fees are explained). If it is a refund of Government fees and/or port charges, it should explain it there. ;)
