Here is what Atlantis had in the email confirmation they sent on Sept 10 when I added a cabinmate to my reservation:

Now that the administrative stuff is handled, here's what to expect before your cruise. About a month prior to departure we'll send an email outlining the events onboard and instructions on how to register for your cruise. Two weeks prior we'll email a detailed schedule and complete guide to your vacation. A few days before departure you'll receive a final email from us with some last-minute tips.

You can find the most up-to-date information on your cruise on our website. Just look at the page for your cruise under "booked guests" starting a month before departure.

Rather than showing the cabin categories dwindling as I have been hoping, the Atlantis website just changed two of the priciest categories from Sold Out back to Limited. Of course this isn't all that significant since there are much fewer Royal Family Suites and if only one cancels it would change, BUT I still don't like the looks of the Pricing page. I know we're going to have a terrific cruise, but a half empty ship is disappointing--if nothing else, less "eye candy" than in the past . . .

Still looking forward to seeing all of you guys and having a fantastic time on Mariner for the last big LA cruise blast for a while!

In PV particularly, that is probably a good rule of thumb as we've found in the past that a taxi from the gay clubs could take upwards of 30 mins. depending upon the route the driver takes (and the last time it was thru a VERY seedy part of town with some major traffic at 9 pm). The good news in PV is that the ship docks rather than tenders as for tendering you may need to factor in getting from the dock to the ship in case the tenders fill up or there is a line.

The ship will ask all passengers to be back on board 1/2 hour before departure. There will be signs posted at the disembarkation gate reminding you to get back onboard.

It's true that the traffic can be pretty tough from Blue Chairs (South part of town) to the cruise ship (north part of town).

I usually allow at least two hours!

See you all soon in just over 4 weeks!

Got another question for people. On shore, is it common for merchants and restaurants to take US dollars or will we need to pick up some pesos? Is there a place to do that on the ship?

Btw, check out the cabin changes on the atlantis website. Looking promising. I wonder if some upgrades are going on. Probably can't hurt that the PV resort week has sold out - the cruise might be a fall back vacation.

WOW! I completely forgot I even started this thread! I was coming by to check out who might be going with us, and was essentially dumbfounded to see I was the thread starter!

David: Sorry I vanished, I stopped getting emails about replies, and then forgot.

Everyone else: hello again! less then 4 weeks, I'm ready!

OK...I called Atlantis and I'm booked. Yeh!! :) I'll have one of those inside Promenade windowed cabin as a single/share. I checked them out on my last cruise I thought they were pretty cool cabins. 4 weeks to go! I'm excited. I did this cruise last year and it was incredible (except for the hurricane). This year we're going to have nothing but fabulous weather.

7 months of no alcohol...my tolerance will be out the door...I'm starting too wonder if I should hold back on drinking...HAH, no way! What was I thinking?! Bring the booze and music!

Who knows, if they run out of alcohol, that might hold you back! (It happened to friends of mine, but I can't remember when/where/line/etc.)
