Pat.bz Posted December 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2009 I thought this was an interesting article http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34348821/ns/business-consumer_news/ and it states this can happen on cruise ships!
eandj Posted December 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2009 Which is why cruisers who are looking for "deals", are gambling with their money. A simple souvenier piece is one thing. " Buy it because you like it and can afford it". But to purchase fine diamonds and gemstones with no recourse if things don't prove to be what is claimed, is for people that have money to burn and don't mind getting "taken". Rare Keith1010 Posted December 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2009 I always think it is better to shop for a nice piece of jewelry at home where you can take your time to make the decision and you have more recourse if there is a problem. knittinggirl Posted January 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2010 It just dawned on me. On RCI, the shops in their flyer have the 60-day guarantee, but I haven't heard of anything onboard having the same guarantee. I pretty much lost interest when the gold chains by the inch were not listed as 10K or 14K.
