Vidimom Posted January 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2010 We have cruised numerous times but this will be the first time on RCCL. I have a couple questions that you veterans can answer. 1. Cost of photos taken on board (embarkation, formal, etc.) 2. Does RCCL offer Mr. Pibb (like Dr. Pepper but Cokes brand). 3. How formal is formal? Can a man get away with just a shirt and tie or is a suit the norm. 4. How does the casino work on cashing out, tickets or download to your card? 5. We are booked in a specific cabin. Does RCCL ever offer upgrades/upsells. We are 4 weeks away and might be willing to move if the price is right. 6. For any of you that have sailed to Cozumel recently, how was the water temperature and does the ship change times when in port? I appreciate any information given. Jasperdo Posted January 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2010 1. Cost of photos taken on board (embarkation, formal, etc.) We bought a formal photo on the Mariner of the Seas a few weeks ago, and it cost $20. 3. How formal is formal? Can a man get away with just a shirt and tie or is a suit the norm. On both formal night, most men wore a suit to dinner. But I did see a few that just had a collared shirt with no tie. And there was even one guy in a tee shirt. So, I would say a shirt and tie at dinner would be fine. After dinner, it's much more casual. Most men, including me, took the tie off. And quite a few were completely casual. 5. We are booked in a specific cabin. Does RCCL ever offer upgrades/upsells. We are 4 weeks away and might be willing to move if the price is right. RCCL does offer price drop guarantees. We used it to upgrade from an inside to a superior balcony for only $60 more. But you need to keep checking the RCCL website to see if your sailing has a price drop.

I appreciate any information given. 1)Most pictures are $20 2)I've never seen Mr Pibb 3) Suits, sport coats, or tux with ties 4) They pay in cash 5) You can pay the posted difference at the pier if there is anything left. Those of us that are D+ try for free upgrades thru our TA's. 6) The night before you arrive in Cozumel you change to Central time onboard and the water temps are low 80's. Cost of photos taken on board (embarkation, formal, etc.) 5x7 are 10 bucks, 8x10 are 20. they will print 8x10s in a smaller size, but they will still charge the 20 bucks. 2. Does RCCL offer Mr. Pibb (like Dr. Pepper but Cokes brand). not that i recall 3. How formal is formal? Can a man get away with just a shirt and tie or is a suit the norm. most wear suits, some wear tuxes...a few just shirts and ties.. 4. How does the casino work on cashing out, tickets or download to your card? IME it's cash 5. We are booked in a specific cabin. Does RCCL ever offer upgrades/upsells. We are 4 weeks away and might be willing to move if the price is right. keep looking..sometimes if the sailing isn't full they will lower prices. other than that, the upgrade fairy only RARELY visits! she will usually start with the Diamond Plus crown & anchor members....you never know, but i wouldn't cross my fingers. that said, i booked junior suite guarantees about 1 week before sailing and got a royal family suite (2 bedrooms, 2 baths--for my mom and myself!) for 1 leg of our b2b and a grand suite for the 2nd! 6. For any of you that have sailed to Cozumel recently, how was the water temperature and does the ship change times when in port? I appreciate any information given. See above...enjoy your cruise!!!
