JBSteelerfan Posted January 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2010 When going from TPA over to PC, is it best to just go I-4 to hwy 528 and across that way, or cut off on FL 417 between I-4 and 528? Looks like about the same distance but didn't know if traffic was better on one route or the other. Thanks in advance for any info.

EatonDoolittle Posted January 11, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2010 Day of the week and time of day matters greatly... Weekend - just go I-4 to 528. Weekday - 7AM to 9 AM - or if you are at all skittish about traffic, take the 417. It quite a bit longer, but as stated, less traffic. There are tolls on 528, also. JBSteelerfan Posted January 14, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted January 14, 2010 Thanks for the info. We are arriving on a Saturday, so hopefully not too much traffic, but we were thinking taking the 417 would also miss some of the Disney traffic. MoreMilesPlease Posted January 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2010 Thanks for the info. We are arriving on a Saturday, so hopefully not too much traffic, but we were thinking taking the 417 would also miss some of the Disney traffic. If you are arriving this Saturday, January 16, you need to be aware of a major problem on I-4 going towards Orlando. There is a two mile stretch of the highway that they have had down to one lane. Just be aware that there really isn't much of an alternative routing right now. It is now estimated that they will have the highway back open Friday night. But don't be surprised if there is still lane closures over the weekend.
