Switching Rooms - Same Category?

We have booked and made final payment for our cruise on the Dream in May. I noticed that a room in the same category and price is now available but wasn't at time of booking. Can I make the switch or will I have to pay to change my reservation?

I had booked a certain balcony cabin, and then found out it was above the lanai "smoking" side of the ship, which is different on Dream than on all other CCL ships. I called my pvp, and had no problem switching to a cabin on the other side of the ship.

Going in May - started in an OV, upgraded when price dropped to a Balcony, upgraded again to Cat 11 and have changed cabins there 2 more times since. My PVP has a lot of patience! So, you shouldn't have a problem, especially if you booked directly through Carnival. Can't speak for TA, as I don't use them.
