Good Friday in San Juan

We are arriving several days early for a southern Caribbean cruise onboard the Caribbean Princess. We will be in San Juan on Friday, April 2 which is Good Friday, an official national holiday in PR. Anyone know how closed up San Juan will be that day. We were planning on going to El Yunque but the Parks Service will be closed and I'm sure most other areas will be closed.

Anyone have any experience with Good Friday in PR??

A couple of years ago we were in old SJ before our cruise--nothing happening/ no casino--most places were closed--we stayed at the Sheraton--one of our favorite restaurants was open Aquavive--across the street from the Parrot Club--I remember that the (Super Shoppers) were worried about shops being open on Easter Monday--I had never heard of Easter Monday--

El Yunque is run by the Forest Service, a U.S. government agency. Good Friday is not a government holiday, so I'd be astonished if the park were closed on that day. I bet it isn't even closed on Easter Sunday, also not a Federal holiday. Certainly El Morro will be open, which is operated by the Park Service -- Park Service locations generally close only on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

Have a great time; I love Puerto Rico!
