Does anyone have any idea how much a taxi would cost from the downtown Miami area (Marriott Biscayne Bay) to the south beach area? I'm trying to determine if it's going to be cheaper to rent a car than do a little sightseeing by taxi... thanks!

If South Beach is the only area you want to see, you are better off in a cab. The ride from the Marriott to Lincoln Road should cost you $20 or so with tip. South Beach is very walkable and parking is expensive, so a rental car is neither necessary nor cost effective.

Depending upon where you are going in Miami Beach, about 5+ miles.:eek: Each way.:eek: Parking in Miami beach is not cheap, and your hotel will hit you up for $25+ per day to park your rental car.:mad: A cab is the way to go, or it might be cheaper to just stay in Miami Beach. Good luck!:)
