Dining room open for lunch on embarkation day?

Hi, Sailing Celebrity for the first time May 2nd out of Bayonne. I recently read a tip where some people ate lunch on embarkation day in the main dining room. This wasn't on Celebrity (I think it was NCL). I was wondering if anyone knew if this was an option to avoid the crowds at the buffet that first day.

 

I'll be sailing on the Summit by the way.

On embarcation day lunch is in the buffet area only. The dining room does not open until dinner. Sorry

Oh that's ok, I'm a buffet fan myself, just thought I'd ask to see if there was away to avoid the lines.

If there is a long lineup when you first enter, check one of the other areas. There is usually more than one location serving food to your taste..

On X when in port the MDR is not open for lunch,including embarkation day.

It was on Constellation, I did not use it on S-class.

It varies by ship

M-class

a number of different options

sandwich bar at the back

asian station port side aft

pizza made to order or available slices starboard towards the back

three area offering the same buffet choices port side and starboard nearest the elevators when you enter midship

the aqua cafe

the grill outside starboard

not the dining room

The MDR is not open for lunch. They will have the Maitre D' available in the MDR during that time for questions about seatings and tables.
