Sulo Posted March 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2010 DH and I are taking a 15 night Canada/New England cruise in May on the Maasdam. There are four formal nights and I'm wondering how 'formal' will formal be on this itinerary. We both quite enjoy getting dressed up for those special nights, and I'm sure hubby won't be out of place in his tux (which he says is comfortable to wear anyway). But will long dresses by out of place and/or in the minority ? Are short cocktail dresses more in line? I just don't know whether to pack a couple of long dresses or not. Any ideas folks? Thanks in advance, I know someone out there will have taken this type of cruise.
Krazy Kruizers Posted March 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2010 We have done the repositioning cruise -- there were lots of long dresses, cocktail dresses -- I took along both. DH wore his tuxedo -- there were a lot of them.
trophy_23 Posted March 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2010 There was a good mix of both on our 14day repo last fall from QC to FLL on the Eurodam.
cb at sea Posted March 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2010 You can't go wrong with a tux and evening gown on a "formal" night.
Berk987 Posted March 24, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2010 wear whatever makes you look and feel beautiful. comfort is a plus also. one time on formal night I wore a girdle. mistake. felt so uncomfortable during the whole dinner that I never did that again. Plus I'm only 110 lbs so do I really need a girdle - NOT. I've learned my lesson.
