firsttimecruizer111 Posted April 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2010 I know that carnival does not allow irons. I assume they mean the clothing type. How about the flat irons women use to straigten hair?
pjpu Posted April 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2010 They're ok, just like curling irons are ok - just make sure you turn them off when finished! :)
h_blond2 Posted April 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2010 I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that they are allowed. You should be able to find out for sure on the Carnival website.

littlesnit Posted April 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2010 Yes, please always unplug your blowdryers, too. A friend of mine always left his plugged in at home. One day when he turned it on to use it, it burst into flames in his hands. Ya just never know!
Tbay-eh Posted April 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2010 They are allowed, but you should unplug them when they aren't being used. I second this - my daughter left hers plugged in and turned on (she was rushing). Melted the carpet where she was using it (sitting on the floor). Needless to say after SHE paid to have carpet replaced she learned an expensive lesson. Always, as others have said, unplugged all such items after finished. Sorry - this was at home not the ship. poobears Posted April 18, 2010 #9 Share Posted April 18, 2010 They would have a lot of upset girls (and a few guys I'm sure) if they didn't allow curling irons or flat irons :D
sopranos Posted April 18, 2010 #10 Share Posted April 18, 2010 i use a flat iron and when we are on a cruise i use a small plate to set it on while seperating my hair because the counters are usually formica and not granite it and this way it will not burn the counter. hope this helps
D&TTexasCruisers Posted April 19, 2010 #11 Share Posted April 19, 2010 I take my flat iron every time but if you dont unplug when you leave the room the room steward will unplug it for you. I try to remember to unplug myself but if I dont I come back in and it is unplugged for me. :-)

brooklynfc Posted April 19, 2010 #17 Share Posted April 19, 2010 I take mine and a little tip if need be!!! If you have some small wrinkles you can use your iron to take them out!!!! Just be careful on what the material you use them on!!! I thought of this too, but other people told me it wouldn't work....glad I'm not alone. I hope they don't outlaw flat irons. When I had long hair a blow dryer and a round brush worked pretty well, but when I cut my hair for Locks for Love it has rediscovered some of its natural curl and I MUST have a flat iron to tame it. My friend brought hers last trip, so yea, they are allowed. My turns off automatically too.
