OldBirds Posted April 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2010 Anyone know what kind of help you can get onboard for someone that is allergic to Dairy and nut products? Will they have soy milk available or allow it to be brought on-board? This question is for a 2 year old going on her first cruise. Parents are also concerned about the day-care (camp) feeding her food she can't have. Anyone have advice?
misguidedangel Posted April 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2010 I would urge you to contact Carniva special needs department and let them know of the allergies so they can register your child as one of the passengers with specific allergies. As for the Camp Carnival staff you can go up there when you sign your child up for the camp and tell them of the allergies and they probably have procedures in place for kids with allergies. I don't have allergies, other than the allergy everyone has to irritating and annoying people. Does your child have a medic alert bracelet? if not, it is a good idea to have one so it can be referenced when needed.
LHP Posted April 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2010 Also at mealtime... remind the parents to use the same screening method that they do when they eat out back home.... Even if they send a note to Special Needs...make sure they talk to the Maitre d' for their dining room...that Asst MD AND BOTH of their wait staff. The more folks that know...the better.... Also they need to remember that the Main Dining Room will have more controls than Lido....
lillian marie Posted April 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2010 My 3 year old is allergic to several foods and we watch her diet and tell the waiters of her allergies when we sit for dinner at anytime dining. You can request a medical refrig if you need one for the soy milk. You might want to call CCL customer service too and mention the allergies or request the refrig. Rare Essiesmom Posted April 25, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2010 Theyhave soy milk. It will be out in the Lido for breakfast, and you can ask for it at other times. EM
