Hobiecat01 Posted May 6, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2010 If Chicago on the Allure is half as good at Hairspray on the Oasis, it will be a huge success. Not a critic by any means, but folks, Hairspray on the Oasis was the finest show DW and I had ever seen on any cruise ship, RCCL, Princess and Carnival all included. Yes, it is that good! :) ------------------------- Sea ya! DEIx15x8 Posted May 6, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2010 Not a big play person but loved Hairspray on Oasis. Having said that my sister loves Chicago so I've seen the movie. Hairspray has a message and some comedy to it that makes it entertaining for the whole family. I'm not sure how Chicago could have that same level of family appeal. BrianAlt Posted May 7, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 7, 2010 From Wikipedia: Chicago is a Kander and Ebb musical set in Prohibition-era Chicago. The music is by John Kander with lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. The story is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice, and the concept of the "celebrity criminal". The musical is based on a 1926 play of the same name by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins about actual criminals and crimes she had reported on. I think it's a great choice! Seen it on Broadway a couple of times and have the movie on DVD.

dougp26364 Posted May 7, 2010 #12 Share Posted May 7, 2010 While I'd love to see it on Allure, I'm not sure it will be considered enough of a "family" show. I'm thinking it will be something a little more family friendly.
