The things I HATE about cruises...

Recommended Posts

I just walk around in a bubble of happiness barely noticing what others are up to so really nothing bothers me too much... Not enough smoke free nights in the casino...the only thing I REALLY hate is unpacking and long flights...first world problem ... I am so lucky to be seeing the world in such a wonderful way.

1. Too many people in too small a space

2. At ports having a few ships with thousands of tourist totally ruining any local culture

3. Being told when to eat and having to put on what I consider uncomfortable clothing

4. Noisy neighbors across a thin wall

5. Paying many thousands of $$ for the trip and then being charged for ANY drink including water

6. Room is off limits when cleaning

7. Food rarely comes up to the standards of food that we make at home or the restaurants that we go to.... And we go to cheap restaurants

8. Waiting in line a few times EVERY day

9. food served luke warm or cooler

10. Internet speeds that go back to the 1990s with the gaul to overcharge for usage

Obviously cruising is not for you. How about an all-inclusive resort instead?

I hate the weight I gain on each cruise.

I hate having to decide which activity to choose.

But seriously, what I really hate are people who fancy themselves as seasoned cruisers who try to impress you by educating you on how much better the food, service, entertainment or whatever was on the last cruise they took. Really, when I'm on board, any ship, I'm having the time of my life and greatful that I get to go at all.

Fun, that was an excellent comment. I couldn't agree with you more. I don't care about comparing cruises, I'm out to enjot the present cruise.

I hate it when that lady I share a cabin with steals the covers (somebody talk to her)

I hate that table-mate who is a know-it-all (usually helped by a few too many)

I kinda hate the constant hawking of on-board purchases.

The pre-paid gratuity and 15% drink tip.

1. Chair hogs.

2. People who are rude to the crew.

3. The gluttony of some (not all) people in the buffet.

4. But mostly, the cruisers who think that because they are platinum, elite, etc., they can behave like pompous a$$es and expect all staff and fellow cruisers to bow down and kiss their feet.

One thing I do is slide my suitcase under the bed open so I can just put dirty close in and virtually no packing last night. If someone is rude or cuts lines I always ask if they would do that to their mother or wife, they always back down. Besides that I ignore most people and enjoy myself.

You are correct but neither is a resort. I like doing home swaps with people in other countries and doing my own touring. I stay away from crowds, dress the way I want. I get more immersed in the local cultural.

I went on the last cruise because my Mom had arranged a family reunion and going on another in May because my wife wanted to. I will have fun but there are a lot of irritating things on any cruise that I do and will not like.
