Transfer Question?

In Rome we have booked thru Princess and our TA a tranfser to the ship. We will be staying there a couple of days prior to cruise at a hotel other than the Princess pre-cruise hotel. Princess & our TA states we'll have to take a cab to rhe Princess hotel of transfer departure, which is OK with us. However a fellow cruiser on our Roll Call states firmley that we"ll be denied the transfer at this point because we'll not be staying at that hotel and that we'll have to go to the airport and transfer from there. At two other world ports we under similar situations have had no problems in getting the Princess transfer when staying at hotels other than the Princess pr-cruise hotel.

Has anyone experienced a problem such as this? PAT CC

What you believe it exactly what we have experienced in the past. You will not have to get yourself back to the airport, as long as you can get to one of the hotels that will be doing the transfer. I think whoever is telling you differently is confused on this point. ;)

Fellow cruiser on your roll call is incorrect. Firmly or unfirmly. Take your taxi to the hotel and have a great cruise.

If you purchase the transfers and Princess knows that they are from the hotel, you will have no problem. In Rome going back and forth to the airport is extremely expensive if not done by train. Take the transfers.

As long as you get to the hotel, you'll be fine. The driver and Princess Rep don't check or care whether you spent the night at the hotel; only that you are at the hotel with your transfer "ticket."
