Spirit Deck 4 or 5 vibrations?

Someone on another thread said that their agent told them that cabin 5035 had notes that it had vibrations. They said it was something about being over the engines. It is over white space on deck 4, but most of the rest of that area is the health center.

We currently have this cabin and prices have gone up, so I would rather not change unless it is definitely a problem.

Has anyone heard complaints from deck 4 or 5 about vibrations?

I can't imagine vibrations would be a single cabin problem, so I am hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

Thanks.

the spirit's aft area does have a vibration. the only time we felt was if we leaned on the aft area railing or sat (for a long period) in one of the aft area loungers.

did feel it in our cabin at all, 9th deck between mid and aft elevators). most people don't feel it or notice it, some do.

if you sit in the casino for a long time, we get use to get quickly. it's not a problem of a single cabin, it's just sometime common to that ship. it's a very minor rumbling feeling...having people (in the family) that are sensitive to motion i can understand it may bother some folks.

Thank you all for putting my mind at ease. I found lots of Google hits on the Aft vibration issues but nothing about the forward areas. Our cabin should be similar to your Sottovoce since we are right by the forward stairs.

It must be a ship wide thing like Toyz said since the Casino is almost as far forward as you can get on deck 7.

I feel much better and am happy again with our big interior at a great price that we reserved thanks to the good people on CC who post such info.

Was put in room 4479 on the Spirit last Nov. This is one of the oversized room and it is hugs. I really didn't notice too much vibration but did hear the waves hitting the bow of the boat. Some people would like the wave noise but for me it was annoying as I am a light sleeper. Deck 4 is also nice as it is easy ot get off the short when it docks at ports and is quiet.

Ann, how was 5035?

Edit: Nevermind... saw your post on my other thread. Enjoy in March...

I will try and respond to at least one of these threads when I get back in March. 6535 hung around for a long time on our cruise. It is finally booked now though. I'm glad I found the larger cabins. It should be nice.

We just booked Jan.30th cruise yesterday and was assigned room 6562. Hope this is a good room. Are the dining rooms on this floor?:);)Linda

Yes, they are on the same deck, but I don't think that you can not get there from your cabins. You have to go up a deck to get across to where the dining rooms are, and then back down. We are on deck 5 and I think we have to go up 2 decks, across, and then back down 1. Does not seem like it was really well thought out.

I'm wanting to say that we were in 5035 a couple of weeks ago, but my goodness I can't remember! It was close to there, our kids (older) were in one and we were across the hall. Anywho, no problem at all. The first night we rock and rolled, someone said something about not using stablilizers, whatever that means. But we sleep through anything so it didn't bother us. The walls are sooooo thin though. I couldn't believe we could actually hear the conversations of the people next to us!

Hi Janet. This is Ann that has been emailing you. I see you can't stay away from CC.

Room 5035 is next to the stairs and is one of the largest interiors on the ship. Does that help you remember?

We have noticed the thin walls on other ships. It was particularly bad on one cruise when we had a cabin with 4 teenagers next to us who were pretty loud at night. I'm guessing their parents were not in the cabin on the other side of them. Luckily, they settled down by about 1am or so.

DH just said we were in 5015 and our boys were in 5037. I am never, not once, by myself when we are on a cruise! If my family lost me they know they would never find me. I have zero sense of direction and those cruise ships are more than a challenge to me! Sooooo, I never pay attention to my room number! HAHAA that sounds horrible.....

We've sailed on the Spirit on deck 5,6,8 and 10. I did notice vibrations at night on decks 5,6 and 8, but I am a very sensitive sleeper and we were sailing out of Boston to Bermuda, in pretty cold water, many times rough water :/ Not enough to ruin my cruise or anything, but I did notice....
