Coffee & Tea are free. There are no kettels or pots in your cabin - you can have it delievered for free. However, if you want the "gourmet" coffee you have to pay for it. You can either pay as you go or you can buy a coffee card.

The good thing about the coffee card is that you get 15 specialty coffees (ie, mocha, latte, espresso, etc). You also get UNLIMITED fresh brewed coffee. You can you use that card virtually forever! You can bring it on ANY Princess ship.

There is a catch though. When you get the specialty coffees, they punch your card. Once that 15th specialty coffee is punched, you "give up" your card. So long as you don't get that last one punched, you can keep using that card over and over for the fresh brewed coffee AND hot tea!!

For the tea instead of them using the bags, they brew fresh tea with tea leaves. I haven't tried it yet. DH has a coffee card.

Unfortuntely when you have coffee delivered to your cabin, they don't know if you have a coffee card or not - so you will probably get the regular coffee. You might want to tell your steward (and show him) that you have a coffee card and when you want your coffee delievered, you want the brewed coffee.

I was the first one up in the morning, so I took DH's coffee card, when to the Horizon Court and got his coffee and brought it back to the room. I will say (he bought the card on the Royal Princess this past April) when you have your coffee (brewed) in the buffett, you get one size glass mug. If you ask for it to go, you get a bigger cup! Again, that was on the Royal - not sure if ALL Princess ships do the same (mug sizes)

We were on the Grand last November. She is a beautiful ship. I will have to say the only bad thing I saw was that the smoke from the casino tended to waft outside of the casino. Hopefully they have fixed that.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

From an English point of view, knowing how much we love our tea, they have a good selection of teas in Horizon Court. The "normal" one is usually Liptons or something similar. Don't bother taking any tea bags with you.

If you want tea / coffee / juice / breakfast items in the morning in your stateroom, just fill in the card your steward will leave in your room each evening indicating what you want and at what time. Hang it on your door handle and your steward will collect it. Next morning, at the selected time, your requrements will be delivered to your room. Free - no charge for this service. Make sure you take along some single dollar bills to tip the staff member who delivers your tray. We tipped two dollars each morning. The tea was excellent and we either drank it in bed or sitting on our balcony. Enjoy your cruise.

Your coffee card is not good for room service delivery. so telling them or your cabin steward will do no good. The coffee you receive from room service is the same concentrated you get at every other venue.
