kayhil3 Posted September 9, 2010 #26 Share Posted September 9, 2010 The coupon says "one per guest" but you say you used a coupon "every day." How did you manage to do that? D I just went to the cashier cage and redeemed them no questions asked.
kayhil3 Posted September 9, 2010 #27 Share Posted September 9, 2010 I tried to get the slot promotion on Spirit ($20 for $10) but I was informed that I wasn't a new player and therefore not eligible...WHAT???!!! Really, really lame seeing I made a sizable donation anyway. I was not a new player. As a matter of fact I booked all three of my cruises with them. suntangirl Posted September 9, 2010 #28 Share Posted September 9, 2010 One of the coupons is 15% of house wine with two specialty restaurant charges. Is this wine any good and how much does it normally cost? When you using any of the coupons do you present them at each place of use or do you present them where you pay your onboard account? NMLady Posted September 9, 2010 #29 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks... I'll skip printing that one. You can also skip printing the free internet minutes. That same offer is given to everyone who books a package of internet minutes the first day.

Some people think the house wine is fine. Some don't. It's a matter of taste, literally. Personally, house wine is always fine for me. The cost is probably around $23 a bottle before discount. You give the coupon to each place of use at the time. For example, if ordering wine at a specialty restaurant you'd give the 15% discount coupon to whomever you give the wine order to, at the time of the order so they place the correct charge. billfish Posted September 9, 2010 #32 Share Posted September 9, 2010 First the books are only good for 2010 cruises so maybe thats why TA didn't get them. Secondly NCL should be embarrassed for printing such garbage. The Coupon books are a JOKE.

jeanettep Posted September 9, 2010 #36 Share Posted September 9, 2010 no, not discontinued and you do NOT need a coupon for the Future Cruise Cert. There is a desk located somewhere on the ship where you can purchase them. They'll be promoting this on board, you can be sure of that. What they did change is now you have FOUR years to redeem. It's a good deal!
mavin Posted September 9, 2010 #37 Share Posted September 9, 2010 it is filled with useless things that you would be crazy to purchase.
MissRabbit Posted September 9, 2010 #38 Share Posted September 9, 2010 You can also skip printing the free internet minutes. That same offer is given to everyone who books a package of internet minutes the first day. Is it only offered the first day? We wanted to purchase an internet pkg, but wanted to test it out for 10 minutes to see the speed (i know ppl say it's slow) before we invested in an internet pkg. Which means we probably wouldn't be buying the internet pkg until the 2nd day. I suppose if it's not offered then, i could just go ahead and use the coupon. bob brown Posted September 9, 2010 #39 Share Posted September 9, 2010 I would say the internet via satellite is very slow. Unless you just have to use it, I would suggest bringing a laptop or netbook with you when you go ashore, and use a free or cheap wifi connection nearby (just follow the off-duty crew, they know where to go!;)). Eloise4Ever Posted September 9, 2010 #40 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks for posting the coupons, NCL don't send them to their non-US customers . There are a few coupons we would use but I notice in the small print it states "Only original certificate can be accepted". I wonder if we would run the risk of embarrassment in the casino/speciality restaurant if we presented a copy?

The coupon says it's good for the 'term of the cruise' so sounds as if you could use it later. To use internet for 10 minutes will cost you more than $11 since there's a $3.95 onetime setup fee, and then the pay-as-you-go charge is 75cents per minute. That is why the package deals are good. $100 for 250 minutes lowers the cost to 40cents a minute (plus the onetime setup fee). $55 for 100 minutes is 55cents a minute but still better than 75 cents. When we used ship's connection in Venice Italy it was comparable to dialup but good enough for scanning email and dumping the junk.

It's a good deal! Another change is that the certificate is good only for cruises of 6 or more days. You can purchase up to 4 certificates, but only one per cabin can be used at a time. I wonder if we would run the risk of embarrassment in the casino/speciality restaurant if we presented a copy? A lot of people use the ones they've printed on their computer from the link in their eDocs, or from the link others provide. No one has said they've had a problem using those. I'd presume the staff is prepared to accept computer printouts since a link was given to print the coupons with many of the edoc links.

I realize the pkgs save you lots of money per minute in the long run but i'm not going to pay $100 for something that is too slow for my needs. I'm willing to invest the $11 for the 10 minute trial instead of the possibility of wasting the $100. What i needed to know, was if the "special offer" the ship offers the first day (no coupon needed), was still available the second day. If it's not, i'll have to use the coupon, but i'd rather not have to print off coupons and chance losing them, if the ship's offer still continues the second day which is when we would be purchasing the internet pkg. bob brown Posted September 9, 2010 #48 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Besides the bonus minutes on firs day for buying a bundle of minutes, they also sometimes offer a bargain package for the last sea day or two on board. Regarding any on board purchases during chartered cruises...I would suggest asking NCL directly.

In my experience that package deal with free minutes has only been offered the first day, so if you want the free minutes some other day you'll have to use the coupon. The coupon says it's good for the 'term of the cruise' so sounds as if you could use it later. Your other option would be to try the internet the first day/night and then get the package option right then if the connect speed is satisfactory for you. That way you wouldn't need the coupon. CruisingGoddess Posted September 11, 2010 #50 Share Posted September 11, 2010 Can anyone confirm that the PDF coupons are the same as the coupon books that are mailed by a TA? My TA mailed us a coupon book when we booked our cruise but it expired in June and our cruise is in November. She's supposed to send me a newer one but haven't gotten it yet.
