Scotoco Posted August 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2010 I have heard that there are coupon books for NCL cruises. My TA told me that they do not have those. Where can I get those coupons. Thanks.

shelle007 Posted August 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2010 If you are talking about the coupon books that are for some of the shops in each port, they give you those when you attend the presentation on the ship. They do this prior to the first stop. At least this is how it worked on our NCL cruise to Alaska last year. Seems like they had a shopping presentation for each port. Cant remember for sure though. flnew2cruise Posted August 30, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2010 There are coupon books. They are for onboard savings. We just received ours for our upcoming cruise. They were part of a special promotion that NCL was running. We booked directly with the CL. The NCL was running a free upgrade and the coupon books when you booked a new cruise by a certain date. OttawaTravelAgent Posted August 31, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2010 We are cruising on Pride of America in October and I found (and printed) my onboard coupon book when I printed my edocs.

STARFISH*4 Posted September 4, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 4, 2010 if they are like they have been in the past...you are spending money to get anything and really not many that interested us at all..i had two unused coupon books last year...they are really not that big of deal:(
flowerchild Posted September 7, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 7, 2010 I know my husband will use the casino coupons and we'll both enjoy the specialty restaurant coupons. Only the first spa coupon is worth anything.
PanamaJoe Posted September 7, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 7, 2010 I have heard that there are coupon books for NCL cruises. My TA told me that they do not have those. Where can I get those coupons. Thanks. First the books are only good for 2010 cruises so maybe thats why TA didn't get them. Secondly NCL should be embarrassed for printing such garbage. MissRabbit Posted September 7, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 7, 2010 i didn't get any in my e-docs. Are the ones in the link posted above generic to the point that anyone can print them off and use them? Even the ones with a serial number on them/? OceanDreaming2 Posted September 7, 2010 #12 Share Posted September 7, 2010 We received a coupon book or our Star cruise (August) but none for the Gem (October). The casino coupon stated it was for new players only, so I never redeemed it. Might try using it on the Gem, though.
lambs2 Posted September 7, 2010 #13 Share Posted September 7, 2010 On our December 2009 Star cruise I printed the online coupons from the link shared here on Cruise Critic (never got any with our cruise docs) but only used the ones for the casino and the Buy 2 Le Bistro dinners get one free Tex Mex dinner. This past spring on the Sun only used the casino one as there is no Tex Mex specialty restaurant on that ship. All the rest were just a waste of paper and ink for us... kayhil3 Posted September 7, 2010 #14 Share Posted September 7, 2010 i didn't get any in my e-docs. Are the ones in the link posted above generic to the point that anyone can print them off and use them? Even the ones with a serial number on them/? yes you can print them and use them. I used the 20 for ten slot coupons every day (1 per)on my 8/29/10 cruise I just returned from.
melehundele Posted September 7, 2010 #15 Share Posted September 7, 2010 They are generic. I had a link in my edocs for the Spirit cruise in February but didn't get one for the cruise this month. These are the same as I had then, though. I was also mailed a book by NCL in February and didn't wind up using these printouts. I think the coupon book promotion was just not running at the time I booked the later cruise, so no mailed book and no edocs link. But these state they are good through December, and I anticipate they will be honored fully.
jeanettep Posted September 7, 2010 #16 Share Posted September 7, 2010 yes you can print them and use them. I used the 20 for ten slot coupons every day (1 per)on my 8/29/10 cruise I just returned from. The coupon says "one per guest" but you say you used a coupon "every day." How did you manage to do that? D
bluefintuna Posted September 7, 2010 #17 Share Posted September 7, 2010 I tried to get the slot promotion on Spirit ($20 for $10) but I was informed that I wasn't a new player and therefore not eligible...WHAT???!!! Really, really lame seeing I made a sizable donation anyway.

NYChris Posted September 8, 2010 #19 Share Posted September 8, 2010 Thanks so much. We'll definitely use casinio coupons! Thanks for sharing. We are going on the Gem 11/13/10! Can't wait!
NMLady Posted September 8, 2010 #20 Share Posted September 8, 2010 We received a coupon book or our Star cruise (August) but none for the Gem (October). The casino coupon stated it was for new players only, so I never redeemed it. Might try using it on the Gem, though. Our three back-to-back cruises are two different bookings. We got a link to coupons with our eDocs for first cruise and received a coupon book. But for our next booking we didn't get the link with our eDocs nor did we receive a coupon book with the welcome packet. Since I have the link with our eDocs I printed out a casino coupon for hubby and will print out more so that we'll each have one for our next two cruises as well. Your casino coupon must be different from mine since nowhere on the coupon does it say for new players only. It's a coupon for $20 slot promo for $10. I'm also going to use one of the Bingo coupons since I play for the final jackpot and if there's a cruise prize I play for that as well. And since we're going to buy liquor in the dutyfree shop on the first cruise to have on the 2nd cruise, we'll use the 5% discount coupon and the free raffle coupon. But we aren't using the rest of the coupons. No Tex Mex restaurant on the Sun, and we don't usually buy a bottle of wine at dinner so neither of those coupons are of use to us. Neither are the spa ones (must be used in port) or the photo gallery ones. But I'm taking the booklet to our Meet & Greet in case anyone there wants the ones I'm not using. tokidoki Posted September 8, 2010 #21 Share Posted September 8, 2010 We got it in our edocs, I think it is per cabin, but we always get a set in our cabin. Our Ta also has these books, I would love to use a few of them in the casino if possible!:cool::cool:
bob brown Posted September 8, 2010 #22 Share Posted September 8, 2010 I agree with the poster that said these coupons are of not much worth. You have to purchase something to get anything. These are more like sales promotions to get you to spend, than really giving you anything. I was on RCCL several years ago, and their coupon book actually gave you some real freebies, with no obligation to buy anything. Like a free ten minutes on the internet. Or a two for one at a specialty restaurant, without first having to purchase two dinners at another specialty restaurant. I will say that I haven't been on RCI for several years, so that may have changed since then.
dbcnwa Posted September 8, 2010 #23 Share Posted September 8, 2010 I noticed the last page is the Cruise Rewards deposit offer of $100 OBC if you put down $250 on a future cruise. It's been a year since my last cruise on NCL, but I remember this was the offer being advertised to all passengers throughout the cruise. Has this been discontinued and only available with this coupon now? I'm trying to avoid printing out what may not be necessary. Thanks.

Thanks. no, not discontinued and you do NOT need a coupon for the Future Cruise Cert. There is a desk located somewhere on the ship where you can purchase them.
