clock test

I hate to seem "computer illiterate" but the instructions say to "click on MyPop near the top of the Message Board" and I don't see that. WHAT AM I MISSING? Can anyone direct me.

Those are old directions you have and that feature is not on the boards anymore.

Now you click on the userCP at the top left where you can go to your signature box, etc. The clock code gets copied and posted into your signature box.

If the HTML code doesn't work, try the UBB code. That is the only one I can get to work on my clock.

If you're still having problems or are still mystified, this thread is a good place to start. Step-by-step instructions on the new board, plus pictures.

If you're still having problems, post again - and save wherever you last got to so we can see what you've managed to do and not do.

Perhaps you can see from my post what I'm doing wrong.
You're almost there.

It looks like you're using an "<a href=" code, which is the HTML code for a URL link. You want to try "<img src=" immediately before the URL, with the ">" immediately after it.

Thanks Globaliser. I retype the whole set of instructions and copied and pasted the HTML clock code. I noticed that it did have "<img src=" immediately before the URL, with the ">" following it. I usually can follow directions fairly well. I'm not sure why I'm having so much difficulty with this.

Did you notice the post that Alexis made above? I tried that and it didn't work either.

I do appreciate you patience and help.

I just copied the UBB code and it worked.

countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=111111&cdt=2004;8;22;17;00;00&timezone=GMT-0500 This is the Mariner 8/22/2004 clock

Try to copy and paste this code below in your signature box. Erase the $ signs I put in the and the boxes after you get it in there. That is to keep the code from becoming a clock.

Make sure you click on the save signature box after you are finished on your home page.

[$IMG]http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?

trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=111111&cdt=2004;8;22;17;00;00&timezone=GMT-0500[/img$]

If this doesn't work, back to the drawing board. :confused:

You've taken the clock out of your signature again, so I can't see where you've got to. But assuming that Alexis copied it correctly, try this:-
  • Go to your User CP
  • Go to Edit Options
  • Go to the last item, and change the selection to Standard Interface
  • Then Save Changes
  • Now go to Edit Signature
  • Where you want the clock to be, insert the following:-
    <img src=http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=111111&cdt=2004;8;22;17;00;00&timezone=GMT-0500>

  • Then Save Signature

Does that work now? The Enhanced Interface does mess up clock code for some people when editing signatures. You can switch back to it when your signature is right, but I would recommend switching back to the Standard Interface whenever you want to insert or edit code in your signature.

Myself, I use the Standard Interface all the time because it's more controllable, but I can understand why the WYSIWYG appeals to many people.
