Looking for some inside tips on booking a flight the day before cruise

when do they offer the seat sales or promos?

I have an eye on a direct flight out of Detroit but would like to know when it's a good time to book.

I'd say when you find a schedule and fare you can live with.

When you see a price that you are willing and able to pay, book the flight.

Are you going during spring break? Flights to south Florida fill up.

All of the flights that I have on the books have gone up in price since I booked them. Some are still 6 months out.

There has been much debate over the early vs watching for a deal, flight booking. I must have been a ** microwave baby ** as I had to book early, and so glad I did.

I booked Sk Canada to Fort Lauderdale, months ago for our Feb 2011 cruise. I checked this morning, we got a price of $1600. return when I booked, today the trip would cost us $ 2400, plus the times I wanted to fly are not available. Woohoooo !!!! Doing the Happy Dance today.

There may, of course, be no sales or promots on that route, especially as you seem wedded to taking one particular airline. Probably more likely that, as others have found, prices will go up, especially as cruise season revs up. I'd also keep an eye on flights to Miami and West Palm Beach if you're willing to go the extra distance to port. But, overall, I agree with those who say grab a flight when you find an acceptable prices and schedule and are ready to commit.
