What you always pack for a cruise

Ok everyone I am going on my first cruise in just over 3 weeks and need to start organising my packing (oh and DH's too)

So I want to know some items that everyone always packs.

I have read extensive packing lists and they just seem a bit over the top to me (I am escaping home so don't want to bring the whole house hold with me :) )

Thanks

Kate :)

hi Kate, welcome to CC and it depends where you are cruising to but if you are going to the South Pacific you will need more summer clothes but its best to bring a jumper/cardigan just in case....they have a laundry onboard so you can always do a wash

Ahhh Kate I see your going on the cruise I had to cancel with my CC buddies :(

Powerboard is essential for charging all the gadgets at once :D

Pack then unpack, halve and repack - Sun Princess has self-service laundry facilities or throw caution to the wind and send it out! :p Oh what the heck, wear some things twice hehe

One of those foldable peg thingys to wash your knickers out - So also take some liquid laundry wash (the powder stuff doesn't dissolve properly when handwashing).

Formal gear - always a great night when everyone is dressed up :D

If you forget something, you can always buy it :)

I can't wait to see my DH's face when I tell him we need to bring duct tape.

He is sure to think he is in for some kinky shenanigans :D :D :D

LOL Kate

I got a weird reaction from my DH when I asked him for a couple of his sinkers from his tackle box (but they kept the pesky shower curtain at bay)

I travel to the ship by car and I always have about 7 bags ( mostly donations - some for Chrissy and others for remote schools)

Here are some of the weirder things I always take

ADHESIVE HOOKS (hang hats etc on them)

BINGO DOBBERS

CABLE TIES

CHOCOLATES FOR STAFF( I leave with a thank you note each day)

CLEAR RETRACTABLE HOLDER FOR CARD

DOOR STOPPER ( l like to prop the door open sometimes)

EGG CUPS

GLEN 20

HIGHLIGHTER FOR NEWSPAPER MARKING

IMMODIUM

LINE & PEGS

MAGNETS FOR DOOR

NAPPY PINS ( I pin washing inside the curtain)

S HOOKS

SEA BANDS

SHEET

SINKERS

SOUP SPOONS

STICKERS( that say thank you-good job etc)

STICKY TAPE

STRIPED BAG FOR WASHING

Ok Di the egg cups and soup spoons have me stumped!!

All I can picture is two people running around the decks having egg and spoon races

My mind thinks up strange things :o

Kate

Can you believe it Kate but Rhapsody didn't have either and I am not a food snob but I just hate soup on any other spoon and its not fun chassing a boiled egg around a plate so I am taking my own lol

Oh yeah, I wondered too. The P Dawn had soup spoons, but the boiled eggs were just on a plate. I didn't know whether the eggs were hard-boiled or soft, so wasn't game to try them. (Don't know if they have egg cups in the dining room - didn't have breakfast there much.)

Even if you only have one gadget, they're useful if the power point is in an odd place, or if you need to use a plug-converter which makes it difficult to hang a big plug-pack off it.
