FLL pizza/Italian restaurant near the Embassy Suites?

Someone mentioned a really good pizza/Italian restaurant near the Embassy Suites (I think!). Can anyone elaborate? Or share a recommendation for a good restaurant near there - not good in terms of $$, but good food. Thanks.

 

I thought I read it on one of these boards, but now I can't find it.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale is Il Mulino. It's about 10 minutes away from the Embassy Suites on Sunrise Blvd. More of a local place with great food and great prices. I love the garlic rolls. In fact I just ate there last night. Yum!

No. You would have to drive.

 

The best restaurants are not on 17th Street. It's pretty much an area catering to tourists.

this is a GREAT italian restaurant and well worth the taxi ride. it is on sunrise blvd.

Mezzaluna. We Haven't dined here in about 2 years but have had a number of nice dinners here. Hope it hasn't changed.

Anthony's Runway 84

 

For lots of food at moderate price (and mussels complimentary as appetizer), do some reading about Anthony's Runway 84. It isn't necessarily to our taste but we know lots of folks who really like it. It's very popular and reservations are a good idea. You can call same day but you won't have to risk not getting a table.

there is a restaurant right across the street(17th) called 'doughboys'

both my husband who frequents fll on business and his boss swear the have the best calzones as well as pizza and is affordable ...mangia:)
