slmwo Posted December 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2010 We are looking to plan a cruise this summer with three young teens (12-14). I've always cruised Carnival (without kids), but it sounds like some other lines may have better accomodations and more activities for this age group. I've read that Royal Caribbean may be great for this age group, but their schedules seem not to vary much. Any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated! :D
firefly333 Posted December 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2010 Id say Carnival is very similar to RCL in this regard .. what RCL has is more outside activities that appeal to teens .. thats why teens prefer RCL often.. the surfing zone to learn to surf, the zip lines on Oasis, the ice skating, a inline skating track, bigger pools and hot tubs, rock climbing wall etc.
PattyG12 Posted December 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 21, 2010 But in order to have the FlowRider and some of the other "teen friendly" activities, you'll need to book on the Freedom Class or the Oasis Class of ship.
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 21, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2010 Yes, take a look at RCI. In general, teenagers also enjoy their ships. I would also take a look at Princess. They do a great job as well for both the kids and the parents. Keith
