What Board/Card Games Do You Bring?

When with our adult kids are cruising with us we take Scrabble, Farkle, Uno. Family time to visit and chat as we play.

On my last cruise I ended up taking:

 

Double Bananagrams (super fun!!)

Toss Up (addictive dice game, travels well)

Apples to Apples to go (first time playing this and was funny)

Regular deck of cards

 

We had so much fun! (Hate that I didn't get a photo of Bananagrams!)

DH and I are huge Scrabble fans, so we'll be bringing our ipads with the Scrabble app. I'll also pack Uno and Phase 10 since they don't take up much room and DD9 likes to play.

We also take Phase 10 and got in trouble for playing for pennies on the lido deck, They said we weren't allowed to gamble on the lido deck!! lol oh well

I have tons of board games on my ipad and it's like playing the real game with someone else but portable. I have Monopoly, Yahtzee, Scrabble, Life, Clue, etc. I love it!

We also enjoy Rummoli if there are at least 4 of us. Mine is a flexible vinyl board and would be easy to pack with a deck of cards and some smaller plastic markers instead of the poker chips.

 

 

This looks a lot like Rummy Royal! We used to play RR when I was a kid and I noticed a place near me called Toys That Time Forgot sold it so my kids bought it for me for my b.day! So fun!:)

Banagrams is awesome! It is our favorite game we play it all the time and it is very easy to transport.

I've never really thought about bringing games...

 

on my next cruise I told my mum I would do my best to relax (I am normally running around trying to get to every activity offered)... maybe I can convince her to play a game or two with me...

 

no idea what though, my favourite is Monopoly but I wouldn't bring that... maybe a crib board.... not sure if she plays though, I'll have to email her

 

 

current games I enjoy - a card game called Wizard (best with at least 3 or more people), I have a pictionary card game that I recently played with friends that was pretty fun! (instead of drawing the pictures, you use the ones provided and your team has to guess)

 

I just bought a Nintendo DS ( I have long bus rides and currently spend a lot of time in airports) so that might come with me...play some Mario Party on my balcony LOL

Sometimes you can get a deck of cards for free from guest services.

 

We have been told they don’t do that anymore also.

 

They can be purchased in the gift shop.

 

You can also purchase a used deck of cards from the cashier in the casino for $1 cash.

Bananagrams is good because you can play it even if it gets a little breezy. I'm not the best at word games, but even I can keep up on this game. :p

We will often play Backgamman and Pinochle. :)

 

Pinhocle is our card game of choice. So much fun. (We also bring Apples to Apples and Disney Scene it -- Great games for the whole family and the kids love the Disney game because it's close, but they always beat us.)

I see some of you bring LRC. That's because you are traveling with a group of friends/family, right? Its not much fun if there are less than, say, 8-10 people, right?

We will be taking Taboo. It's 7 of us so during our down time (if any) we will play. My plan is to take it out of the box and just pack it in my carry on.

Love to play games. Always travel with a deck of cards and a cribbage board.

 

One a long cruise we will take yahtzee. I will have to take a look for this card version of monopoly and also the apples-to-apples.
