Sage Mountain for hiking

Has anyone gone to Sage Mountain for hiking? Is the hike safe for just the two of us? Is it safe to take a taxi? Can we trust the taxi to return? After reading about checking the tires on the taxi's (make sure they're not bald), we wonder if it is worth it to go? Thanks for any help.

We're also thinking of hiking here. We're thinking of taking a cab on way, hiking around and then trying to get a cab back. What are the chances of getting a return ride home? I really don't want to have a driver waiting for us the entire time we're walking around.

You can make an arrangement with your diver to have him come back at a certain time. Also the people at the restaurant would probably put a call in for a taxi to come for you.

We hiked at Mt Sage in 2005. At least then it was very safe with spectacular views. The bar at the little restaurant had a cool view out the window directly behind the bartender.

Can someone tell me how long the taxi ride is to Sage Mountain and a rough estimate of the price? I'm also trying to find out the length of the trails. I've checked out the parks website but wasn't able to find distances of the various trails.
