nerysj Posted February 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2011 We have an option of a four hour tour in Malta with maltataxionline.com 1. What should be included in our 4hr tour....are there any don't miss places? We intend on ending the tour in Valletta, where we will visit St John's cathedral etc in our own time. 2. Do we need a guide for the 4hr tour? Many thanks for any thoughts or recommendations. Nerys
KirkNC Posted February 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2011 If you only have four hours I would do a tour of Valletta without a guide. There are many sites worth seeing in Valletta, the highlight is the Cathedral. Kirk

After the 4hr tour we will 'do' Valletta!
alibabacruisers Posted February 19, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2011 We were in Malta in Nov and only had half a day so we opted for the Hop On/Hop Off...gave us a nice overview of Malta. Had a stop at a glass factory/shop which was nice. On return to Valletta, took a horse and buggy (overpriced for the distance, but ok experience) to the cathedral and then had a beautiful walk back to the ship. Since you have a bit more time, if you did the Hop on/Hop off you would have quite a bit of time to see more of Valletta than we did. Have a nice time! Lolotte Posted February 19, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2011 We also saw the movie the Malta experience and it was a good way to start our visit. Valetta is a very walkable city on your own
williegirlcat Posted March 1, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2011 You should get to the old city of Mdina. It is quite unique. And , if you have time there is a lovely fishing village of Marsoxxlox (sp). Finish the time in Valletta to be near the port. There are many places to visit in Malta. Kate-AHF Posted March 6, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2011 When in Malta, I also highly recommend visiting "The Silent City" Mdina. Very special place.
