What games are played on HAL, like shuffle board, paddle tennis, basketball? What else is there to do besides sit, eat and drink. I do plan to use the fitness room quite a bit, but what over things do yo like to do?

Well there is the card room/games room I mentioned. There you will find different card games, and board games. I also hear that people play poker (not for real money I'm sure;) ), but that can be fun too. I am bringing my poker set in hopes to get a good game going.

There are also different classes offered. On NCL I went to a pet class, and learned a lot of ways to save on pet care. I won a gift for my Akita and had a great time.

I think I could live on a cruise ship. :)

Playing trivia, going to the casino, curling up with a good book and a foo-foo drink in a nice shady location, a little shopping, high tea, spa time... all of these are favorites on a sea day!

I enjoy:

The casino.

Sitting on deck or in the Lido or poolside and talking to people.

Getting popcorn and watching a movie.

Having a massage or pedicure.

I love the musical production numbers in the evenings.

In port I like to shop or investigate the town or take an excursion.

Usually shuffleboard, ping pong, basketball, tennis, ring toss, volleyball, and golf putting and chipping contests. This varies by ship. The Prinsendam has a golf simulator and a friendly pro on staff. There are two or more pools, a jogging track topside, and endless opportunities for strolling and/or power walking on the teak promenade deck (4 very interesting and romantic laps to the mile on the S class ships -- Ryndam, Veendam, Maasdam, Statendam).

Ashore, of course, there is the full range of snorkeling, kayaking, horseback riding, sailing, golf, hiking, and etcetera, depending on (1) what shore excursions HAL offers for the port and (2) what you can arrange on your own. Half Moon Cay has all sorts of sports available.

Sounds like you could live on a ship too. LOL

My favorite part of my cruise was the sea days as well. I hear people complain about them a lot and I say, What?

I agree - adore sea days - forgot some of these things mentioned by Ryansmemom!! Especially the napping... I never, ever nap at home, but boy I sure like a nice snooze after I've had a little sun on the ship!

I enjoy finding a quiet spot, with a good book, and watch the world go by!

Oh, I so agree - it is serendipitous! There is something about being in a quiet spot and on the water that is so restful and the perfect mindset for reading.

Do you know about Bookcrossing? See below!

I normally like to cuddle up in my inside stateroom with a good long novel. I'm trying to change my appearance a bit so that someday I will feel comfortable enough to venture out onto the decks. Someday maybe I'll even don a swimsuit and sit by the pool!
