Hubbard Glacier Sailings Restricted?

I just read on another board that starting in 2012 access to the Hubbard Glacier will be greatly restricted, requiring permits issued through a lottery, much like Glacier Bay. Is there anything to this - rumor or fact?

I know this has been in the works, which was one reason I really wanted to get in my Alaska cruise to Hubbard Bay in 2011. I have not seen any factual details yet.

Don't know but you will still know in advance of booking your cruise as to whether or not you can cruise into it. Probably a good idea for protecting it.

Cruiselines can change itineraries at any time. There are no guarentees that any itinerary will stay exactly the same as when you booked it.

Indeed, sometimes for the better. Last summer, they changed our Amsterdam itinerary to include Glacier Bay (as well as Hubbard).
