Texas Tillie Posted April 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2011 I just read on another board that starting in 2012 access to the Hubbard Glacier will be greatly restricted, requiring permits issued through a lottery, much like Glacier Bay. Is there anything to this - rumor or fact?
vbmom87 Posted April 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2011 I know this has been in the works, which was one reason I really wanted to get in my Alaska cruise to Hubbard Bay in 2011. I have not seen any factual details yet.
5waldos Posted April 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2011 Don't know but you will still know in advance of booking your cruise as to whether or not you can cruise into it. Probably a good idea for protecting it.

Last summer, they changed our Amsterdam itinerary to include Glacier Bay (as well as Hubbard).
