What happens if? On board account question??

What if you happen to pay for your sail and sign with cash then for some reason you go over and you don't have the money to pay Carnival on the spot? This never happended to me but I have always wondered.

I think you have to sign a note to get off the ship. Something happened to the cc of someone I cruised with, maybe a payment had not hit?? and she was stopped right when she tried to swipe out with her card.

So this, then, answers my question.

 

We want to set up a cash account but we don't want to worry if we are running close (Anniversary trip -- just want to have fun and not think about $$). I guess if we *are* running close we can add on the credit card while on board.

 

Cool! I was thinking the cc would have to be done before boarding.

somewhat a related question. Do teens have to have a S&S card? I am going on a cruise with my daughter & some friends for their HS graduation. I've made it quite clear they are going to learn to drink the juice, ice tea and lemonade provided at meals and bring a water bottle with them. We are booking excursions in advance, so that will be covered and I'm aware of the auto tips, I just don't want these girls charging extras to the room.

Yes, the teens are required to have an s&s card, however you can completely revoke or limit charging privileges.

And at the rates they pay their onboard employees, you might get your first world cruise in before your tab is paid, lol. :p

you work to pay the bill, but the bill gets bigger because now you bought another cruise, so you work to pay the bill, but you bought another cruise.
