Triumph Inside Connecting Cabins

We just got our cabin assignments.

I never had really looked at the Triumph deck plans and was kind of surprised by the cabins we got.

They told us that being guarantee the cabins would probably not even be on the same floor.

So I was surprised and kind of weirded out that we got connecting cabins.

These cabins seem to be kind of hidden in a space between the inside cabins and are square shaped instead of the usual rectangular.

It makes me feel a bit claustraphobic just looking at the deck plans.

Anyway, what can y'all tell me about these cabins?

I am curious about the connecting door.

Is it like in a hotel where there is a door on each side?

Since it is DH and I in one cabin and our 22 year old DS and his GF in the other, it would be beyond creepy to have the door open all the time.

Hopefully the door will open and close or it can just stay closed all the time, I guess...

And we are right over the casino.

Noise and smoke?

Thanks!:)

Yes, there will be 2 doors. One on your side, and one on their side. Both sides have to open it to go thru the door.

Thanks

That sounds better than I had feared.

At least I can stand in the room knocking on the door to wake him up for an excursion instead of in the hall.

( A couple of years ago DH and I took the boy and his buddy on a cruise.

We had to get up early for the Chichen Itza excursion.

The boys had been up late the night before impressing girls and would not answer the phone.

Time was running out and I was out in the hall knocking-could not find the room steward anywhere to get him to open the door.

So this man looks at me funny in the hall and I tell him that I am trying to get my son up for the excursion.

He looked all superior and asks if I had thought about calling him on the room phone.

Well, duh...and no I was not making excessive noise...

The next morning I see the man's wife knocking a door.

She tells me that she is trying to get her son up for an excursion. :)

Then her son opens the door and the guy is in his 30s in his robe and had obviously just rolled out of bed.

I just smiled and rolled my eyes at DH...we laughed later...

Oh and then another young man was in a room right across the hall and his sister had to come and knock to get him up.

Another day he was in the bed sleeping...or sleeping it off...with his door open.

For at least three hours that I saw.)

Yup, 6299 and 6301

So we are back.

These cabins were between the inside cabins on deck 6 over the casino.

We did not get any casino noise, but had noisy neighbors and noise from people at the elevator.

There seemed to have been a lot of screaming and bellowing for some reason...

They are square in shape instead of rectangular and seem much larger.

There is plenty of room on both sides of the bed.

And that corner thingy is not there either so it makes it seem larger that way too.

Yeah that! :D We're booked for 6287 (6 doors down from your rooms) for October. :) Was the elevator noise awful?

the elevator is not noisy- its rude passengers that make the noise.

(I should not say this-- but in the past 4 cruises we had a cabin right by the elevators and were blessed with passengers who are thoughtful of other guests. Never heard a word
