Half Moon Cay Lovers

I've not been to Half Moon Cay yet - next week Friday I hope to be soaking up some rays!:) With weather/waves/wind causing a miss so often, two days would give people a better chance to experience the island. Might be a good idea.:) On the other hand though, that would double the ships tendering there each day and could cause a shortage of cabanas, umbrellas and excursions...:(

BOY---we would take two days at HMC any time. I don't know about a 7 day cruise---that might be to much- but the 10 day and longer would be just great. We love the place and would love to stop there as much as possable. I would love to stop there rather the Nassau or San Jaun. Penny

We have not been to Half Moon Cay, but will be there in April. I don't think I would like two visits to one place on a cruise, 7 day or 10 day. Now that might change after I have been there. But I am an adventurer and like going to new places. Each new port is an adventure for me.

Didn't we have a thread on this about a month ago?

I for one would prefer to only visit HMC once per trip.

Same here, especially on a seven-day itinerary. Maybe a second visit on longer itineraries would be okay, but on a seven-dayer, I'd rather visit a different port than HMC a second time.

Blue skies ...

A second day at HMC - NOT ENOUGH - here's my perfect itinerary:

Day 1: leave Ft L

Day 2 - 6: HMC

Day 7: Disembark at Ft L

Sounds GREAT, unless it happens to be a week of rain and wind and crummy conditions. No ports at all to break up all the sea days. Anchored off Bahamas, no casino or shops on the ship open. In theory, it's great but in terms of practicality, I'm not so sure.

Except for Sail's point (which I think is a very good one) I have always said I would like a cruise that simply takes me to the Caribbean's most magnificent beaches ... Half Moon Cay is one of those.

You can drop me by Megan's Bay, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay (on St. John), Paradise Beach (Barbados), Treasure Cay Beach (Abaco) and I'm sure there are many many more that I've never even seen.

But there would definitely be a problem if the weather doesn't cooperate. Still, if the weather doesn't cooperate I don't much care for any Caribbean port.

Heck! If the weather's bad just leave me out at sea with all the shops open on the ship!

I am so easy:D
