This will be my first Platinum cruise.:)

I see that I get a entry into a slot machine contest.

I can envision myself looking like a dunce because I have no idea how it works or if I even want to bother with it.

Have you done it?

How did it worK?

Was it fun or even worth the time?

Who can enter?

Thanks!!

WEve done it several times, its fun! They take 10 people at a time and you play a slot machine for 5 minutes. The top 6 scores stay on the board. After everyone whose entered has played those top 6 go back and play for the grand prize which is normally 500 bucks. We did it last week on the Spirit and both hubby and I were in the top 6. We doidnt win but got nice tshirts. Anyone can enter for 20 dollars.

I love the Slot Tournament and play every cruise. As Platinum, you go to the cashier's cage and give them your name. They have a list of all the Platinum cruisers and will cross your name off the list when you redeem your free entry. They give you a card and then go put your name on the sign up sheet wherever they are holding the tournament (it's a certain set of slot machines, but you will know). The sign up sheets are in 15 minute increments and you just decide when you want to play and the machine number you want to play on. When it is your time, the host will call your name and you sit at the machine you picked. The host will then collect your entry card and give you a raffle ticket. They will tell you to write your name and cabin # on one of the raffle tickets and you will give that one back to the host. The raffle ticket is for one name to be drawn before the Final round for a second chance for someone to play in the Finals for the grand prize (usually $500 for a 7 day cruise). You are given 5 minutes to hit the button and accumulate as many points as possible. The top 9 names of people out of all the rounds will be placed on a board and those people return around 1pm for the Final round. Then they draw a name, from the raffle tickets, for the 10th spot. The host always goes over all the rules and directions.

There a 2 slot tournaments during a 7 day cruise. Usually the 2 sea days. As Platinum, you are entitled to 1 free entry so if you don't want to play in both tournaments, just choose which day you want to use the free entry.

Hubby & I always play both days and I even won the $500 a few years back.

Hope this helps.

Michele

We enter the slot tournament on every cruise. Being platinum, you go to the casino cashier and tell them you are platinum. They will check the list and you will sign the paper for your free entry. It is exciting and you may win $500. My DF got into the finals when we were on the Spirit in Feb. It can be very exciting. You get 5 minutes to push the button. The 10 people with the highest score at the end of the preliminaries plays for the jackpot of $500. If you qualify and don't win, you get a T-shirt. Try it...you never know, you may win:)

If you want to play in both it will be $20 for the one that is not free. Anyone can play (as long as they are of age ;)). And, honestly, it can be alot of fun if you get a fun group of people playing. We love it when the players make a lot of noise and the crowd cheers them on. It just makes it more exciting.

My wife won it a few years ago. It's fun. Sometimes there's not much participation so your odds are better. They'll usually do it a couple times each cruise. It used to be timed but now everyone gets 200 credits and there's no timer. So you don't have to hit the spin button like a maniac. It's funny to watch people do that while I calmly use my 200 credits. With platinum, I think you also get buy one entry get one free if you want to enter multiple times or buy entries for others in your party.

It depends on the Casino host how it's run. Last few I've done have been timed. One only the top three got shirts and another there was no wild card drawing. The slots pay out differently. Sometimes 90,000 points wins and sometimes 6,000 points wins.

Haven't seen it done by credits nor a BOGO offer.

They also give you a ticket stub' date=' which can get you into the finals if your number is called. That happened to me a few years ago on the Glory, and I won the $500. I enter every cruise, its fun![/quote']

On the last Paradise cruise the host didn't have a wild card ticket drawing for the last spot. I have never seen a point countdown, only a 5 minute timer countdown. I was one of those people who placed 3rd in the finals and didn't get a shirt  :D. It also depends on the casino, some have 10 slots and some have 9 slots.
