Swiss Army knife

Is it possible to pack a Swiss Army knife in our checked bags? I know it's fine by the airports, but is it okay with Princess? It has our corkscrew & we might need the knife for cutting our clothesline (though we could manage with just leaving it bunched up).

It's OK in your checked luggage, but you can also get a corkscrew from the room steward if you wished. We usually take one with us, too.

My DH takes one in our checked luggage all of the time. It really comes in handy for little incidentials.

You could also take it with you onto the ship on your person. You would just have to take it out of your pocket thru the metal detector.

On our first Princess cruise, my husband had a small knife in his pocket. When he went through the metal detector at the pier and set the sensor off, he was required to check the knife and claim it on the last day of our cruise. This wasn't a problem at all, he always carries a pocket knife, and didn't realize it would be a problem.

 

So just be aware that you can't just carry it on your person.

Since it's going to be in our checked luggage for the flight, we'll just leave it in there for boarding. Our carryon backpacks will be full enough!

Can anyone confirm this for Crystal Cruises? I'd really like to bring a leatherman during our excursions, but it appears that I wouldn't be able to get back onboard!
