family size suitcase recommendations?

If you have to fly, you want to make sure the size is right...if you're not flying, a steamer trunk is fine!

Bring more than one....it's just easier! Unless there's a charge from an airline....they really screw things up for travelers!

We have the 27.0" x 16.0" x 10.0" size and we love them. They are lightweight, so you can get a lot of stuff in them before hitting the 40lb weight limit. They have 4 rollers, so they don't tip going over rough ground.

We can pack 3 suitcases for the 4 of us, plus a rolling carry-on "emergency" bag and a couple of back packs that we carry on the plane.

I don't know the ages of your family of 5, but I would suggest a carry on suitcase for each person, and that is it. Everyone fits their own clothes/stuff in their one suitcase,, and is responsible for caqrring it, and has easy access in the stateroom to their stuff. And no worries about any luggage being lost because nothing checked thru.
