Taxi for 5, Vatican to Hotel near Trevi Fountain

Hi, we have to catch our cruise port shuttle about 2pm at our hotel and are planning to take a guided tour of Vatican museums in the morning (Mid July).

 

How hard will it be to get a cab from St Peters Square midday for 5 people and approximately what should it cost?

It will be near impossible to get a cab for 5. That would be a special order and you may as well call a Limo service. Small streets equal small cars.

There will be tons of cabs around St Peters Square so getting a couple won't be a problem. How much? Well, it will really depend on the traffic, and I can tell you, it can be brutal and you spend more time stuck than you do moving. Give yourself time.

Thanks! The metro is the way to go (which I would do if not for the parents in their 70s with jet lag). We will grab two cabs.

Definitely two cabs and give yourself extra time for cabs if it is raining.

Just returned from Rome, we had 5 people also and getting a taxi for 5 is available but we did have to wait at the taxi stations longer until one was available. We had a private tour guide and he talked to the taxi drivers, and we always seem to get one for 5.
