jcann, had the exact same offer by email. This was the 2nd one I've received since becoming diamond in February. The first was for Epic but only during April and our April was crazy so I couldn't take it. Am sailing with my daughter on July 31st. I'll post when I return and let you know how it went, any additional comps, etc. Still not sure how I'm going to keep track of a 17 yr. old and spend ample time in the casino, but I am excited to be seeing Spain and Italy!!

do you have to sign up for cas or does it happen when you sign up for NCl casino. i get comp all the time for biliox so we go at least 4 times a year I have not been on NCL before but the only thing Carnival ever gave me was some free play and a small discount. so if I need to sign up for Cas just let me know. thanks

If you are not on a cruise through Harrahs/Caesars Entertainment then yes you have to sign up for a CAS card. Depending on your rate of play what you will receive.

They have a minimum amount of points to make before they give you any cash back toward your on board credit. As well based on your rate of play whether you will be eligible for any discounts or comped staterooms on future cruises. They are not as generous in comps as a land based casinos. Probably because the cruises don't rely on only gamers like a land based casino does, they get their profits from many places on board casino, drinks, shore excursions, activities like bingo etc.

Yes, I also received the e-mail for the Med cruise, but since I have two cabins already booked for my family of seven for a cruise next year, the timing is bad. Plus, also need to consider (as mentioned on another thread) the DSC, airfare, shore excursion charges, gambling, etc. - the cost can be considerable.

I will have my 13 YO with me. LOL. I have been Diamond for about 9 years running. I go to Caesars for two 4 night trips per year and have a Tier Score of about 25000 combined and lots of Reward Points for the two trips.

Don't know how that stacks up but I called my casino host and she told me that Caesars bought half of NCL for 1 Billion dollars about two years ago, hence the realtionship.

You may find that after you sail, CAS will do even better for you than Caesars. I am also a long time Diamond with play similar to yours, but have moved a majority of my play to NCL. I still spend some time in AC, but have dropped my Vegas trips down to one weekend per year, and cruise a few weeks a year instead. CAS has always treated me very well!

This weekend I booked a cruise on the Epic for December. Wouldn't you know it, on Tuesday we get a card in the mail with an offer for a complimentary stateroom on the Epic for the same cruise we just booked. We were bummed because we assumed we would have to cancel our booking to take advantage of the offer. My husband called CAS and the great rep (Jose) was able to take over our existing reservation. The offer was for an inside cabin (category IB). We had a large balcony (B6) reserved. We just had to pay the price difference to keep our room. He was even able to keep our cruise rewards deposit on the reservation. My husband will get $50 in free play too.

Our last NCL cruise was in November 2010 on the Sun. We didn't think we played that much to get any sort of offers. My husband didn't even get enough points to get the free drink card.

I guess the moral of story is to call CAS first and see if they can do anything for you.

.....she told me that Caesars bought half of NCL for 1 Billion dollars about two years ago, hence the realtionship.

NCL is now owned partially by the Caesars corporation, and partially by a Malaysian gambling corporation that operates casinos across Asia.

Recently I've read that the Malaysian corporation sees Florida as the next big gambling destination, as it's already a big & popular vacation destination, and because of it's situation as a hub for Latin American travel. They are working to get Florida to allow regular (non Indian) casinos, and I'm sure once this happens they'll announce construction of land based casinos right away. My guess is that those casinos will carry the Caesars/Harrah's branding.

Here's a link to just one of several news articles on the company and their activities in the U.S.

Trying to see what levels they are offering on the Epic, Pearl and Sun between Thanksgiving and Christmas... 40 minutes on hold and waiting :(

On hold from CAS? wow, that's unusual. Do you have a Harrah's or Ceasar's casino rep you deal with regularly? Trying going through them first.

I suspect you won't get much of an offer on the Epic as that's a popular ship and popular time of year. Pearl and Sun more likely.

Hope it all works out!
