So who will be the captain for the March 29th cruise? Captain MacDonald or Captain Sullivan?

 

Captain MacDonald, then when he goes on break, Capt Sullivan will start

Wolf, we are down to cruising only 30 days a year with Royal Caribbean, and now 30 days with Princess, and as a bonus, 15 nights month after next, on the Rivers in Europe.

 

It will be interesting to see where Captain Rick Sullivan really winds up. We are on the AD for the crossing.

I might have missed it somewhere, but how long is the duty rotation again? On Vision in June and just curious as to whether we'll have Capt. Ban or Capt. Liz.

They're on 10 week rotations and so far the captains on Vision have been sticking to that rotation.

We had him on Allure two weeks ago. He seems like a personable enough guy. There was really nothing about him that made him stand out either positively or negatively. We had some major port departure delays and I did not think he did a very good job of keeping us informed about the delays or the reasons for them. He also does not seem to be very big into blowing the ship's horn. Sorry, but that is something that I always enjoy hearing when on a cruise. So if it is not a big deal to anyone else reading this that is ok but I like some of the "battles" that ships have gotten into when leaving port. He did not even salute the condos as we were sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale. His daily announcements also seemed to occur at variable times and did not even seem to be daily. He did hold a vey good Captain's Corner.

 

Even though I find Captain Johnny to be a bit of a ham I would prefer sailing with him. It is rare that any captain, other than Capt. Stig when we were aboard Serenade, has had a major direct impact on our cruise experience.

Looks like I'll have Johnny on the Allure May 11 sailing. I've been hearing about him for years but for whatever reason have never ended up sailing with him. Glad I'll finally have the chance!

If I am understanding how this Captain rotation thing works, it looks like I will have Captain Johnny on my cruise on May 25, 2014 which makes me extremely happy! My mom and I had him back in 2004 on the Mariner and he was great! When I took my husband on the Mariner a few years later we missed his rotation. I haven't had a Captain that I have loved as much as I loved Captain Johnny! I know my little boys will get a kick out of his "Good morning, good morning, good morning!" :D

For you and Marci, and anyone else, I have sailed with captain Johnny maybe 10 times, and he is a supurb seaman and a fun captain.

 

Just because someone won't sail with him, for reasons of their own, should not deminish your own experience.

 

I'd like to leave it like that.......OK?;)
