Capt Erik Standal of Navigator left the ship in Rome sunday Aug 07, so this is a week earlier compared to Karen's list. He mentioned during the C & A party, which was held on the Peekaboo bridge when leaving Chania, Crete, this was his last week onboard. Never been to a meeting on the Peekaboo bridge before, but it was closed off for others than those with an invitation, and there was a buffet and drinks set out, and many other from the ships officers there with us. The captain explained what was happening on bridge, but left the party just minutes before Navigator was due to leave Chania at 2 PM.

For the Liberty, I can confirm that Captain Gjerstad came back on duty on August 13th and left after just one little week on August 20th. Captain Teige is now in command again.

Is there a way to find out who the captain will be besides the adding of 10 weeks to start date? We know the lines get blurred with the holidays and TA's at times so wonder where we can get a definite response???? Especially interested in knowing when

Captain Bang is on Voyager. Dates he will be on in December and will he come back early for TA to BCN or meet ship there? Inquiring minds would like to know. Would really like to sail with him on at least 1 of the 3 cruises we have booked from New Orleans, lol. Thanks in advance for any info.

He's been my favorite since the day I met him. I told him I was there (GR at the time) to find out why Baltimore loved him. He asked me to let him know if I found out.

 

I've sailed with him at least 6 times - twice each on GR, EN, and FR.

 

He says he already has his own show. He takes advantage of the resemblance to Conan O'Brien.:cool:

Their usual rotation is 10 weeks but that can be adjusted by agreement between captains or special circumstances. If you check to see when Captain Per begins his next rotation you may get a good idea of whether or not he will be the Ship's Master for your cruise. :)

According to his wife, they leave Voyager 10-8-11. They should return around 12-18-11. Capt Bang has hinted to the guests at his Captain's Table that the December rotation is his last. But you know guys, when the time comes, they start dragging their feet. Capt Bang is 62 yrs old.

That is great! My twin sister (Marcia) and I plan on jumping on the Voyager 3 times in the next few months after it arrives in New Orleans since we live in Tennessee and Mississippi. We have always enjoyed sailing with Capt Bang and even had the pleasure of eating with him and his wife when on European cruise a year or so ago. Hope he will be on at least one of our cruises! Lisa
