Surprise trip for Daughter - Conquest 6-26 - Lots of fun - Pictures & Review

I have to think it was the best day ever!!!!!

 

From the no “Texas Waffles”

 

to the FREE WHATABURGER COKES!!!!!!! Love Whataburger…

 

To seeing her face for the first time when she see’s the Whale’s Tail… That was so awesome…:)

 

To having Charlie see us on the webcam and us waving at him

Our first cruise was on the Conquest, and since she is coming back home, I'm sure we will be going on her in the near future...:D

 

Yes she is Coming back to your area... I hope you can plan a trip on her. We are looking to sail in January on the new ship Magic, on the same stops my husband and I. I just really love Nassau and Key WEst....

What a fun trip! I am loving this review. I have all boys- so never got to have a mother/daughter trip :(

 

And I always had a DOTD with my sons on our cruises when they were your daughters age. I dont think there is anything wrong with it at all and it's a fun memory of our fun cruises together! It's a vacation!!

 

Can't wait for the rest of your review! I have always been curious how long you have to sail from Galveston before you hit the blue water so let me know:D

 

Boys are really special too. My middle son and I are really close.. My older son and his dad are close. My older son lives in Orlando so no one gets to see him very ofter. He's an Asst. Golf Pro at a Golf Course there. So this time of year he doesn't get many days off...

 

I kind of felt like it was ok to give her a DOTD... She knew that it was only because this was vacation...

 

When we went to bed that night the water was still looking really murky, and by the next morning it was BLUE!!!!!!! So happy to see that.

What special memories you are making! I "only" have boys too, but I just had a granddaughter, so maybe I'll take HER on a cruise someday:D (or she can take ME! :p;)) Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

 

I'm liking the idea of her taking you one day. Maybe Rae will remember that and take me one day instead of me taking her.

 

Just like CruisinJenF: Boys are great and I always think that maybe I'll have great Daughter in laws... I pray for that everyday....

I love the food porn! The shrimp cocktail almost brought tears to my hubby's eyes. It was his favorite. I thought the beds and room was so comfortable that I wanted to go the cabin. We were on the Verandah deck with a balcony. I sure hope I enjoy our upcoming cruise half as much as Conquest.

Mine toooo I ordered it every night plus something else if I wanted another appetizer.... You will love your cruise... Expecially if you just get to be lazy and eat... Where are y'all sailing to???

Wow, I can’t believe that I’m finally on day 2

 

Of course Day 2 started really early for me. I guess that’s what happens when we get old. We fall into that same ole same ole. Getting up early!!!! YUCK!!!!! So after I woke up, I wondered out onto the balcony to see the bright sunshine and the BLUE BLUE water!!!!! Love it… So I sat outside for awhile

 

I brought a journal book along so I could write about our whole trip...

 

 

 

Than

 

The funniest thing happened: the night before we decided that we would order room service for this morning. And we sat the time for 8:00 to 9;00. Well, when I went outside to sit on the balcony I didn’t leave the door prop open I just left it closed so Rae could sleep. Well of course there was a knock on the door right at 8;00… I didn’t hear it, but Rae stuck her head outside and she was like “Mom, there’s someone knocking at our door” We forgot… It was breakfast…

YUM YUM!!!

 

Rae brought this sweet card from my precious husband on the ship for him and she had it sitting on my pillow last night... I loved it!!!

 

 

She's got her Dr. Pepper for Breakfast!!!!

More Blue Water...

 

 

After her Dr. Pepper and checking out the BLUE BLUE WATER, she went back to bed... HMMMMM.... What to do, so Back out on the balcony I went, really I was still out there and I just didn't move.

 

So I started my book... "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett.... I had watched the movie trailer and several of my friends had read it so I was really excited to spend my vacation either sitting by the pool or on my balcony reading my book... Rae brought several books too. Did we read our books??? HMMMMM....

 

Finally around 10:00 she woke up... Time to get ready and see what's going on on the Lido Deck... Plus nearly time for lunch...

 

I tried to tell Rae to put on her swim suit but no she wanted to get dressed... so we put on shorts and shirts and headed down to the Lido...

 

 

Neadless to say, we walked around... checked out the Sky Pool, had French Fries, Chicken and Chips and Hot Sause then it was back to the room we went. Time for swim suits and sun...

 

We headed up to the Sports Deck, Deck 11 and found Royce and Donna a couple we meet while waiting in lines yesterday. They were really fun... They had found really great seats that looked out over the water. The wind was blowing so it felt really cool. Although the wind caught my cap and it flew down the deck about 50 feet. We caught it.

Notice the really cute towel clips... I read on this board to bring towel clips and I thought that was a super idea... Come to find out it was the BEST IDEA EVER!!!!!

 

 

 

As we sat in the sun for awhile Rae went wondering around and she was at the sky pool area where she found our favorite Bartender that we had meet the day before "Manny" and she told Manny that Mom is up on Deck 11, so up he came with Rae... "Are you ready to put a little Booze in our Cruise" he said.... so we ordered the DOTD!!!! You'd think we were big partiers... or at least he hoped so.

 

 

It was Yummy!!! Something Coconut with Orange juice or Mango juice. I don't remember.

Well Rae didn't stay seated long, she was ready to roam...

 

So off we went...

 

This time to the Lido Deck... There was a party going on around there...

 

 

 

Finally we headed back to the Sky Pool. I was so glad. I was getting really tired of walking around. It was getting really hot and I was ready to sit next to the water with my feet hanging in the pool.

 

The sky pool was really hopping to, there were 4 couples that we're really having a great time... Really great time. Lots of booze in there cruise.. Needless to say security finally showed up and one lady left in a wheel chair after throwing up on the deck area. Not the pool area... Thank goodness. I really felt sorry for her, but she want remember anything.

 

We sat by the pool for about an hour. It was really nice to enjoy our DOTD and sit by the water.

 

Sorry for no pictures, but I just totally forgot to take any...

 

On our way back to our room the clouds we moving in and it looked like rain.

 

 

 

 

We finally headed to our room to get ready for our 1st formal night dinner...

 

Plus we sure hoped that our table mates would show up...

 

Formal Dinner is next.

It's time to get all dressed up!!!! We we're so excited...

After a fun day by the pool and walking around looking at all the guys.

 

Boy do you know how I love looking at all the guys.

 

It was dinner time. We felt a little reserved about going to dinner because we really didn't want to sit by ourselves again, so we were hoping that our table mates would show up...

 

All Dresses UP!

 

 

Once dressed we head back over to the Monet for dinner. Once we got there we found that our table had changed. The table group that was sitting behind us was now sitting at our table and the table that they were sitting at was now ours. And guess what...

 

Our table mates were there!!!!!!!

 

Yes!!!!! We were so excited...

 

They were so nice. Come to find out they were from Midland, so we had that in common. It was a Mom and Dad and their 2 son's and wife and gf. So it was lots of fun to visit with them. They were such a nice family....

 

Food Porm...

 

 

 

 

We also had Shrimp Cocktail again and we both had the Chocolate Melting Cake... So that's all the pictures of food I have tonight... Sorry...

After dinner we wondered around the casino area, through the shops and then once we got outside on the Lido deck we felt these wonderful rain drops... Now as everyone knows most the state of Texas is in a huge drought, so the rain felt really nice. It's been a long while since we've seen rain. It's just been 102 everyday at our home...

 

Now it was show time so we head to the Toulouse - Lautrec Lounge... Theatre to me. The show was the "Viola Paris" which I saw last time I sailed so I thought maybe Rae would like to watch it since it was lots of dancing and singing. Lots of fun pictures before the show..

 

 

 

I think we were having lots of fun?????

We stayed and watched the show for about 30 minutes then she was done!!!!!

 

She was ready to roam...

 

Little did I know she was looking for Royce and Donna, because Royce had promised her that he would dance with her in the disco... so she was pumped to go dancing. So we walked and we walked and we walked... All through the casino, up to the Lido then back to Promendade Deck back down to the lobby and so one and so one. I was getting really tired we kept looking for them until 10:30.

 

This is us getting some tea at the sky pool... No ice cream yet...
