So we got to visit with them for a little while... They had fun in Nassau, they went snorkling and then their taxi driver took them on a tour of the island and they saw lots of stars houses... Thanks for sharing your story with us. I, too, have had my fair share of family issues, both good and bad. My friends say my story sounds like something from a book. I don't have any kids, but I know that everything that happened will allow me to be the best mother I can be one day.

We checked out the Club 02 and there were lots of kids in there but she was looking for Forrest... so on we went we finally decided that they were probably in the Magic Show - Magic & Illusion with Lady Hellevi, so we decided we would go and check it out... Neither of us are big magic fans so we didn't really plan on going to it, plus Super Star Live was tonight in the Degas Lounge - Super Star Live is Karaoke with a live band...[/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT]

[FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=3][COLOR=#0000ff]So we headed into the Theatre and it was packed.... So packed... Which was awesome for the stars... We finally made our way around to the left side of the stage but on the 5th deck and we seat in 2 chairs apart from each other... The Magic show was great, although most of the magic tricks I didn't watch but the dancers and entertainers were fabulous... I just love to watch performers perform... and they did a fabulous job... Rae loved the whole show and when it was over... She was like we need to see this again...[/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT]

Carolyn, I am loving your review especially Nassau and the relationship you have with your daughter. Back in 1969 I went to Nassau with a girlfried for the 4th of July weekend. We stayed at the Grand Bahamian Hotel, can't remember if it was a Hilton or what, but on the way home I met my DH on the plane in Miami and we married in 1970 and have been married since, so Nassau has a special place in my heart. Also just wanted to let you know that my mom and I and my sister had a very special relationship. My Dad passed away in 1970 and my Mom started taking my sister and I on a trip every year after. My wonderful DH always stayed home with the kids (we have 3). My Mom would only do car trips because she did not like to fly. In 1998 she said she wanted to see Alaska before she died, but we said she would have to fly. She was ok with that as long as her girls were with her. Now my Mom was 92 at the time. We flew to Vancouver and took a cruise up the inside passage. She absolutely loved it. My daughter got married in Jan. of 1999 and Mom passed away 10 days after the wedding. I will always cherish those trips with her. My daughter and I are very close also but she does not like to cruise so we take short trips together. Now my boys love cruising and we have taken family cruises. I have 4 beautiful granddaughters (ages 10, 5, 17 mos. and 10 mos). My dream is to be able to take a cruise with DD, both DILs and all four granddaughters, but the little ones will have to be a little bit older. Always cherish your and Rae's time together!!

AWESOME REVIEW!!!!!! Few things I want to share... DH & I have lived our entire lives in Fredericksburg. :) Great place to live but expensive as it is a tourist town.

We just got off the Conquest on Sunday (4th time on her) We were on the Panorama for the 3rd time & Hary was our guy too. I am embarrased to say that I wrote "Eddie" on his tip env the last night. We really never saw him much, he was a ninja steward :) Room was always done 5 minutes after we put out our Cruising sign. Hubby thought his name was Harry, I said No it is Eddie... oops :o

We took DD & her fiance along, she is starting her last year of college next month, fiance just completed first year of med school in Ft Worth. We were very blessed, they too liked hanging out with us the entire cruise. :) DD did 4 years of competitive gymnastics & then 4 years of high school dance team so our girls would definitely get along!

DD & I also take our pillows everywhere we go. Soft feather pillows are easy to squish in a loaded suitcase. LOL

Hubby & I are looking at The Magic Eastern Route in Dec, 2012. Have to wait a bit to pay for wedding next summer. Kids already have the Magic booked for their honeymoon.

I am hoping to get a review written this weekend. But unfortionately I have no clue how to upload pics & this being our 4th time on the same ship & 5th time to the same ports, we really didn't take many pics. Did buy a ton of portraits onboard. Will use them for engagement pics & have several on display at the reception. Much cheaper than hiring a photographer.

Can't wait to read your Key West report. I agree Atlantis is overpriced but I feel it is a must if we are that close...

We almost stopped there on our way home but we knew we had 3 more hours to go and we were home... Mamacita's :D

 

I love that you know the competive side of gymnastics... We did private for 4 years, 2 years in High school - Rae's Soph. year made it to State on Floor and Balance Beam... Then Quit!!!!! Her body hurt so bad... She just wanted to cheer, so here we are just cheering and loving it. She dances every night and right now she is getting ready for "Hairspray" McMurry University is putting this production on and she is in the cast.. It opens next Thursday... I can't wait... She actually did 10+ years of gymnastics, our tiny gym didn't do competitions for years, they had to start their vaults outside & we only had half a floor. She coached at the gym through high school. She made the dance team at college (Schreiner University) but wasn't comfortable with the suggestive moves, so turned around & tried out for their cheer team & made it. She only did it her freshman year. About the time she found the now fiance... She has several friends at McMurry.

 

What is your daughter majoring in in college??? She is majoring in Psychology, wants to get her masters once she knows where they will be for residency. She wants to work with Special Ed or Drug & Alcohol Rehab.

 

Hubby and I may cruise same itiniary in Jan. 2012, for my birthday and a get away for us. Since he works all the time, it's really hard for us to spend a long period of time together...

 

A wedding is going to be so much fun and I can't believe they didn't ask you to cruise with them on their Honeymoon...:D:D Actually, she wanted to get married in Grand Cayman but family is important to her & she knew that her elderly grandparents wouldn't make the trip... actually think they would be fine with us going along but we will let them have that time.

Sorry for a dumb question but what is Coral World?

Coral World was kind of an underwater viewing area, and they had tanks of stingrays and sharks you could touch. I know Rae would have loved that!!

PS... Our oldest dd's middle name is Rae - she was named after my dad, whose initials (the first 3!) were R.A.E (Richard Algernon Edwin), his mother's maiden name was Rae. And... (here's the good part), he was born and raised in Nassau, his family had been there for generations. I lived there when I was a kid, my g'mother had a store on Bay Street. Spent my summers there during high school, too.
