More than two in old Romance suites

I was wondering if anyone has travelled on the Dawn since the drydock that have stayed in the aft suites with more than two people. How did they handle the extra beds. I am very interested in 10226 because that is where we will be in four weeks and there will be three of us.:D

There was a thread recently on this subject and someone said they had been contacted by NCL about cots in their suite since the larger couches hadn't arrived yet. I think the poster was sailing this week or next and would report back how it went.

Although we all fit and had a great cruise, I believe the Aft cabins on the Dawn should really be for just two people! We had to rearrange the couch so that the boys could put their feet on it, since they are both over six feet and the roll away beds were a little too short ... the room was perfect and someday I hope to return with ONLY my husband!!!

Still ... again ... we had a BLAST ... the room steward, Moe; our butler, Jose and Anoop, our concierge couldn't have been ANY better ... we will now only be able to sail the 'suite life', as we have become spoiled!

Hi -

Were you in 9232? We were there a couple of weeks ago and your posted pictures look very much like where we stayed! We also loved Moe (one of the best room stewards we ever had), Anoop and Jose. It was our first time in an aft-facing suite and we're now hooked!

That said, we enjoyed it with just two of us! :)

Yes, it is room 9232 ... would LOVE to book again and this time just take my husband ... the room was beautiful, the staff was amazing and the aft view was perfect ... I felt as if I was watching all the 'stress of life' as we were leaving it behind ... far far behind!!!

I thought so! (I recognized the bird picture on the wall!) I would love to book this room again, too. It was so quiet and private having only one suite beside us. (Plus for some reason the door was open all week to the wrap-around area of our balcony, so we enjoyed beautiful views standing at the rail there, too! We never asked or mentioned anything about it being open, and it stayed that way!) I don't think we've ever spent so much relaxing time on our balcony before on any other cruise we've taken. The sound of the wake was like a waterfall - very soothing. (And the delicious smell of whatever was baking nearby was wonderful, too!) I hope you do get a chance to enjoy 9232 again with just your DH next time! (Wouldn't you love to be sitting on that balcony right now? :))

Hope I am not stealing your thread :p But as a first time cruiser on thae dawn I had a few questions.

Questions on AFT Suite 9232 NCL Dawn:

How many electrical outlets in main living area?

Are bathrobes supplied?

Is the square footage comfortable for 2

Is the deck God Awful Small like most pics I have seen?

We received the free cruise from our local Casino (Foxwoods) and is our first time on any cruise! We are looking forward to the Bermuda trip in August, and would appreciate any feedback regarding casino hours (whilst at sea) and procedures for acquiring cash for Casino.

I have read that there is a fee to charge to your room’s folio, and then have read that there are no fees! So any recent travelers please let me know :)

Also, any other tips and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Lucky you! Wow - a free first-time cruise in an aft-facing suite! You hit the jackpot! We loved the aft-facing penthouse suite #9232, so to answer a few of your questions:

How many electrical outlets in main living area?

I couldn't find any normal outlets anywhere except at the vanity area outside the bathroom by the closet. I had brought a short travel power strip (for up to about five items) to plug in our two phones, Bullet Blender, etc. and left the strip plugged in all the time right there. It's a wide, table-like space with plenty of room.

Are bathrobes supplied?

Yes, there are two "nice" NCL robes in your closet - not the itchy waffle-type like in the spa area.

Is the square footage comfortable for 2

Yes, there is plenty of room for two. We were very comfortable, but I can't imagine how three or four people can fit in this suite, especially with cots set up!

Is the deck God Awful Small like most pics I have seen?

The aft-facing penthouse suites on Deck 10 have larger balconies (deeper) than those on Decks 8 and 9. (They get snatched up early!) I believe they're all the same widths, though. We were in aft-facing penthouse #9232 on the Dawn in early July, and the divider to the wrap around area was open the entire time. (We were never quite sure if this was an accident or oversight, but we adopted a "don't ask, don't tell" policy and it remained open thoughout the cruise!) It's not a particularly large or practical space - you can't sit there, and chairs won't fit - but it made our balcony seem a little more spacious. We enjoyed the view from it, and took some pictures. It was a nice surprise, because we were expecting the divider to be closed and locked! Anyway, it was still larger than any balcony room or mini-suite balcony space we've had on previous NCL cruises. You just can't beat the privacy, quiet, and amazing views from this suite!

As far as the casino, I think it opened about an hour after we left Boston and during sea days, the slots were open all night. Tables opened at nine, and there were tournaments going on at various times throughout the day. (They're all list on the Dawn's "Freestyle Daily" Sheets.) There is also an ATM in the casino.

As far as fees for changing your room, contact NCL (only if you booked through them) or your TA for answers.

Be sure to look into the suite perks available to you (especially Cagney's for breakfast and lunch) and have a wonderful cruise. Also, you might want to check out the postings under the Ports/Bermuda section of Cruise Critic for helpful information and answers to specific questions about getting around, things to do, etc. Enjoy Bermuda!

I felt it was to crowded for 4 people. My husband, me and 2 kids (10 & 6). They did not take the beds down out durning the day so you lost the small couch to sit on and the table only really 2 good fit comfortable. I'm sure if you asked Moe (who was wonderful) to take them done he would, but I did ask since he has so much to do anyways.

Being my first time in a suite, I wasn't overly inmpressed with Jose (my friend who was in an Aft suite) had a much better butler compared to ours.

Balcony's are small. I think it would be better with 1 lounger and 1 chair again my friend was on 10 and her balcony was much bigger.

View was awesome special in Bermuda. Sailing back to Boston we were able to see whales off our balcony, which the kids that was cool.

Thank you so much for the reply! I figured you just got off the ship, and the same room so you would have the lowdown... thank you again!

Happy to help! So many people have kindly answered my questions on Cruise Critic over the years, particularly on the NCL board. I would never have known about so many things to do, look for, enjoy, or questions to ask if not for this forum! :)

Thank so much for the photo we are sailing july 5th 2013 in penthouse 10000 aft with our two boys 13 and 16 both are tall so this is the only photo I've seen if you have any others shots that would be great

Room 10000 is forward, right in the front. If it is the wider couch it should be fine for them. There were a few photos around after the drydock but not much recently.
