First time cruisers

My partner and I are doing our first cruise on April 2, 2012 on the Mellenium. We are new to this any suggestions?

Get guidebooks on your ports, so you'll know what there is and what you want to do. There's seldom a need to pay big bucks for excursions if you do your research! And, if you find something that does require excursions, check out the 'port of call' boards for recommendations on private guides.....usually less expensive and less crowded!

 

Bring binoculars!

 

Remember that the cabins are much smaller than hotel rooms....so you won't be surprised!

 

It's a vacation...and there's no right or wrong way to do it! Enjoy!

Check out the ports here on cruisecritic. When you choose your ship and date, go to the Roll Call here. There you will find others on your cruise, ask about tours and even join some on the same cruise. You can talk to a TA and/or go to the web sites for different cruise lines. When you have a ship, ask more questions here!

Or cruise is April 2012, how is the Mellenium? It seems to have the largest rooms on a cruise ship. How is the butler service,and what all do they do for you?:p
