First time cruisers

Get guidebooks on your ports, so you'll know what there is and what you want to do. There's seldom a need to pay big bucks for excursions if you do your research! And, if you find something that does require excursions, check out the 'port of call' boards for recommendations on private guides.....usually less expensive and less crowded!

 

Bring binoculars!

 

Remember that the cabins are much smaller than hotel rooms....so you won't be surprised!

 

It's a vacation...and there's no right or wrong way to do it! Enjoy!

Check out the ports here on cruisecritic. When you choose your ship and date, go to the Roll Call here. There you will find others on your cruise, ask about tours and even join some on the same cruise. You can talk to a TA and/or go to the web sites for different cruise lines. When you have a ship, ask more questions here!
