Best Snorkeling--Maui or Kauai?

We are going to both and would like to hear your opinion of which has the best snorkeling and why.

 

There are so many excursions to choose from and that will free up the other location for a different one.

Maui has better snorkeling than Kauai.

I've snorkeled & dived in Hawaii & it's definitely on Maui. West & South Maui have too many good sites to mention but in the tour book "Maui Revealed" it lists all of them. You may also get some info on the Maui Dive shop site for snorkeling locations. If you're in Lahaina, the closest is Black Rock in Ka'anapali but nothing good near Kahului.
